September is a busy month for beer lovers. With the Great American Beer Festival and Oktoberfest both kicking off there should be plenty of good beer going around to keep the masses happy.
At McNear's, get ready for Sierra Nevada. With their upcoming Brewer's Dinner on October 13th, the three taps behind the bar will feature three selections from Sierra Nevada including the new Autumn release Tumbler Brown Ale. The menu for the brewer's dinner will be announced in the coming week. Keep up with their website or Facebook for full details when announced.
If you're in a more competitive mood, check out Thursday night Beer Pong. Pay for your beer and compete for free. Brewery and liquor prizes are available as well as A's and Giants' tickets. The championships will be held on Saturday, September 25th with a complete trip to Vegas including hotel and airfare on the line.
Plans for an Oktoberfest celebration are also in the works with details to be released as the 17 day festival grow nearer. In the meantime, be sure to look at their nightly reverse happy hours where you can find a different $2 bottle and $3 draft everyday from 6pm until close.
While you're enjoying these beer specials, be sure to do so safely. Petaluma has a reputation for zero-tolerance when it comes to drunk driving. To be safe, check with the local bus routes, many of which serve the downtown Petaluma area. If the bus doesn't work for you, line up a designated driver or call a taxi.
