The Beer Sellar is a 50-tap adventure

The Beer SellarLocated at 107 Church Street, which is practically the basement of the Hooters on 2nd Avenue, is one of Nashville's best-kept secrets, the Beer Sellar.  With "100 Bottles, 50 Taps and 1 Bitchin' Jukebox," this little gem shouldn't be kept hidden from any Nashville beer lover.

When it comes to looks, there's nothing spectacular about his place.  It really does look like an old cellar that someone has turned into a pub, but the atmosphere is incredible.  The staff is friendly, the food isn't bad for pub fare, and the beer selection is outstanding.  Current tap choices include Magic Hat Wacko, Arrogant Bastard Ale and Wailua Wheat Ale from the Kona Brewing Company of Hawaii.  You can definitely expand your beer repertoire at this establishment.

The Sellar's event schedule includes poker on Mondays, Tuesday Pint nights, where you keep the glass, and trivia on Sundays, but I recommend catching the place about 9 p.m. on a Thursday, when the Music City Blues Jam takes over.  The music will move you, and the Sellar makes it even better by throwing in some 2-for-1 draft and pitcher specials.  Looking to make it an even better bargain?  Forget about paying for downtown parking.  Head on down Church Street and skirt the Cumberland River on Gay Street.  You'll find lots of free parking at the meters around the courthouse.

If you're looking for a "regular" place, this may be it, but the very least you should do if you're a beer lover is visit the Beer Sellar.  And let me know how that Wailua Wheat is when you do.
