Inaugural Hop-a-Tui Beer Fest Redefines BYOB

The first-ever Hop-a-Tui Beer Social, to be held in Racine, Wisconsin on November 21st, promises an eclectic lineup of craft beers from brewing greats such as Furthermore, Rock Art, O'so, Left Hand, Central Waters, Ommegang, and...you. Yes, you. One of the requirements for attending this beerfest is that you bring some homebrewed beer of your own or, barring that, a commercially available craft beer.

Hopatui, according to the Urban Dictionary definition, is:  A mixture of a craft beer lovers, brewmasters, and a mix of amazing craft beers. Additionally, according to the beerfest's own web site: Usually the event has a high concentration of fun, bullshitting, and the best unique and season craft brews around.

So, which breweries and corresponding beers will be attending? Here is the brewery lineup thus far:

Hop-a-Tui will be held at the historic Great Hall inside the DeKoven Center on Racine's lakefront. The event is sponsored by The Great Lakes Brew Fest as well as Kilties Drum & Bugle Corps. Musical entertainment  will be provided by King Solomon. The event will run from 7-11 PM, with brewer beer sampling going from 7-9 PM, followed by homebrewed beer sampling from 9-11 PM. Tickets are $25 for attendees and $10 for designated drivers. Participants are expected to bring two 12-ounce bottles or 1 bomber-sized bottle of craft or home-brewed beer to share. If you can't find some beer to bring, you will be charged $5 extra at the door.
