Colorado Springs is lucky to have their very own version of the triangle where things go in but don't always come out.  Unlike that watery zone of puzzling paranormal shenanigans, ours - referred to as Beermuda Triangle - is full of beery goodness.  Tonight, two of the three anchors that make up this trifecta of hoppy happenings is holding intriguing beer related events.

First, The Blue Star restaurant (1645 S. Tejon Street) is having a dual dinner pairing at 6:30pm.  You may have been to a beer dinner, and you may have been to a wine dinner, but have you ever been to a dinner that pairs beer and wine?  For $65 every person will receive a five course meal that features a 2 ounce pour of wine plus a 2 ounce pour of beer, then you'll be able to vote on which you preferred.  Here's the menu:

First Course: Tomato Consommé
Wine: Stella Rosa
Beer: 3 Monts - Brasserie de Saint Sylvestre - Golden Strong Ale

Second Course: Melon salad, chile, corn silk honey
Wine: Pacific Rim Oregon Riesling
Beer: White Rascal - Avery Brewing Company - Belgian White Ale

Third Course: Pork belly carnitas, chilled corn soup w/ roasted chile gratin
Wine: Berghold Foot Stomp Lodi Zinfandel
Beer:60 Minute IPA - Dogfish Head - India Pale Ale

Fourth Course: Anatto-ancho roasted Bison, cornbread, tomatillo-tomato
Wine: Matrix Russian River Pinot Noir
Beer: Ommegang Abbey Ale - Brewery Ommegang - Dubbel

Fifth Course: Donuts w/ local fruit preserves
Wine: Bella Vella Pinot Noir Port
Beer: Monks Cafe - Br. Van Steenberge - Flemish Sour Red Ale

There may be a few seats left, so call 719-632-1086 to see if you can still get in.

If sixty five bones is a bit steep, stop on by Bristol Brewing Company (right next door to Blue Star) from 5:00pm to 9:00pm for the release of this year's version of the Cheyenne Canon Pinon Nut Brown Ale. Their brewers roast tons of pinon nuts to create this smooth brown ale.  All of the proceeds from this beer benefit the Friends of Cheyenne Canon.
