America Inspired

The most refreshing beer in America!

Fat Head's does it again! Fat Head's Bumbleberry Ale just won the Global Warming Open. What is that, you say?

Directly from the Brewing News Website:

"It’s hot, real hot. Again. The summer has broken all heat records and those chunks of Antarctica that have broken away have pushed water levels so high that you’re surrounded by water. But no chunks of ice."

"At first the heat feels good; it’s like having your own hot tub. But soon you become uncomfortable. You need to cool down. You need a beer. A beer will help you through this crisis. But which beer goes best with hot weather?"

Well, the Brewing News recently held its 3rd Annual Global Warming Open, a contest pitting refreshing summer beers against one another to determine the most refreshing beer in America. Like the National IPA Championship (which Fat Head's also won), beers from around the country were entered, in fact beers were accepted by any brewery choosing to enter the competition. The only Ohio breweries participating were BREW Kettle and Fat Head's. the BREW Kettle made it to the "Elite 8", which in itself is an accomplishment out of 96 entered brews. The judges were all craft beer connoisseurs, and again, according the Brewing News web site, were all sitting in a hot tub while making their determinations.

The winning beer, Fat Head's Bumbleberry Honey Blueberry Ale is one of my favorites. Not only is it wonderfully light, refreshing, and tasty (and not too sweet), the presentation is visually appealing, too. It is served in tall hefeweizen glasses with a few fresh blueberries thrown in that bounce around delightfully with the effervesence in the glass. To my way of thinking, it's great any time of the year, but you must try this award-winning brew! Congratulations to Fat Head's and brewer Matt Cole for once again providing Cleveland with the best beers in America!

I don't think it's sold outside of Ohio and PA.
