The Associated Press is reporting that the police tasered a wheel chair bound, double amputee twice because they claimed he was uncooperative in turning his two-year-old over to Child Protective Services. So far no one has said why Child Protective Services was taking his child.
This story will most likely end up on my list of the top ten Child Protective Services horror stories of the year.
In the video below, the father says that his daughter was sitting in his lap the whole time this was going on. For the police to use a taser on this man in the presence of his daughter, when it was not necessary, is a form of child abuse as far as I am concerned. But then the police and child protective services often abuse children in the very act of taking them from their parents.

Child Protection are required by law to tell parents why they are being investagated prior to coming in the home or taking a child. This was signed into law by President Bush. The child also must be in "imminent physical Danger", not because the parent is disabled. Disabled parents are protected by the state's anti-discrimination statute. Thank you Thomas for the information. I have provided a link to your website in the right hand column under Helpful Links for People Having Problems With CPS
Do we know if CPS had a warrant to take the kid?
CPS is out of freaking control. I cannot believe they actually tasered a man in a wheelchair. Oh, yeah, I can. They pull this crap every single day. I hope he sues the hell out of them.
There's got to be more to this story. CPS is made up of human beings and just because they're part of that organization it doesn't mean they've surrendered their humanity. There are also rules they have to follow and I find it hard to believe that they'd handle the situation with such malicious intent.
The guy may be in a wheelchair but he's got arms to swing with and a mouth to yell with. Being disabled doesn't turn someone into a kitten.
I'm very interested in the other side of the story.
liam, sure cps has rules to follow, and in general they act with humanity. But there are plenty that are power happy jerks. If someone tried to take your child, regardless of who they were, are you going to just hand your kid over? Heck no, any loving parent is gonna fight to keep someone from taking their child. Most of the time CPS (and law enforcement) take kids without warrants, which is illegal and unconstitutional, but it doesn't stop them from taking the kids anyways. We have every right to fight off unconstitutional behavor from our government.
I feel bad for people like Liam who are in the dark ages where CPS is concerned. I pray that people like that don't have children to learn the hard way what CPS is capable of. I shouldn't be shocked anymore after all the horror stories I have read but humanity has totally escaped this system. I will bet there was no warrant and this man and his child are just another set of victims to the power these "gods" think they have.
CPS in Canada has tasered moms in order to get their children. In BC, Canada, a young, petite mother who was holding her baby was tasered. The police alleged that the mom was suffocating her baby, and that the mom was mentally unstable. These are typical CPS/cop lies when caught committing crimes against humanity.
