Washington D.C. – The Democrats moved on Friday to allow an estimated 12 million illegal aliens into the proposed health care legislation. A Republican-backed amendment that would have prevented illegals from receiving free health care by checking citizenship status was defeated by Democrats in a mostly party-line vote of 23 to 18.
The plan known as the Heller amendment was written by Rep. Dean Heller, R-NV, and wanted to include clauses that mandated checks similar to E-Verify in order to qualify for government subsidized health insurance.
The Heller amendment said, “It would better screen applicants for subsidized health care to ensure they are actually citizens or otherwise entitled to it.”
The two identification processes the Heller amendment would use are programs the federal government already employ; The Income and Eligibility Verification System (IEVS) and the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE).
This news comes after Rasmussen reports poll states 80 percent of Americans oppose covering illegals in the health care bill.
Another amendment proposed by Heller included those members of Congress to enroll in the government-run health care program. This amendment was also defeated 21-18.
Both ideas were nixed by the Democrats, leaving health care for those in this country illegally in the massive $1.5 trillion health care package.
By leaving those illegally in the country in the health care package leads many experts to believe this is only the beginning for a back-door Amnesty.

What's wrong with our lawmakers? Have they lost their minds? You can bet many of those voting to give Illegal's Healthcare coverage at our expense will not be re-elected when their term expires. I personally will print out a copy of how each one voted, and will make it public knowledge prior to anyone voting for the idiots who spend our money on illegals. I've heard of college graduated idiots most of my life, but realize more than every just how serious the comment is, and how it affects every American Citizen. Our govt. won't close our borders, they won't remove the illegals, they give them the same legal rights we as citizens have, and this is totally insane. Where will it end? To provide healthcare coverage for 12 million illegals will ultimately deprive 12 million U.S.Citizens from the healthcare they need, and it will probably be us senior citizens that get pushed aside in line, not the illegals.
This just goes to prove that the morons on capital hill still don't know their a** from a hole in the ground. We have gone from a country that people used to admire and respect. Instead now we are a country that people refer to now as a cesspool. These illegals come to this country, steal jobs from legal AMERICANS, do not learn how to speak english, and most of them are criminals. So why would anyone think it to make sense to insure these illegal thieves? This is ludacris. But then again what do I know, I am just one natural born citizen whose family has been in this country since day one that has to pay taxes and carry vasaline with me everywhere I go because good ole' Uncle Sam bends you over and doesn't even give you a kiss afterwords. I do LOVE this country but I DO NOT have to support the idiots who call themselves our leaders. What they are leading us into is a nation that will no longer be the land of the free. It will be the land of worthless people with no backbone.
The amendment called for a check for citizenship AND a CREDIT CHECK that EVERYONE who wanted to use the program would have to pass. You are being played.

I am for reform. I would be for the citizenship check. WHAT EVIL cold-hearted monster would ask for you to pass a credit check to be able to BUY an insurance plan? And don't think this CREDIT CHECK part would not be extended to people with current policies.
