Sacramento California became a firestorm of angry voters voicing their concerns about the current state and national issues impacting the economy.
The protesters started to arrive at the capital steps around 8:00 in the morning by 10:00 the crowds had swelled to more than 1,000 people and noon saw the number increase to 6,000. Among them were 35 San Diego residents that made the grueling all-night drive to Sacramento.
Petitions circulating around included the California Taxpayers Protection Act of 2010, which will limit the benefits illegal immigrants can receive from the government for their American born children; the part-time legislature bill and the repeal of AB32, California’s version of cap-and-trade.
The diverse crowd carried home-made signs with slogans like “No cap and trade, our electricity is too high; fruit trees are dead, so are your political careers; and no hate…not all wee weed up!”
Lynn Miller of San Diego also made the trek to Sacramento to ask Governor Schwarzenegger to repeal AB32 as well as, “Turn the water back on and get the 40 percent of unemployed workers back to work in the field.” Gene Buel concurred and said, “Stop creating a desert in our central valley.”
The plight of many farmers in the central Californian region is daunting at best. Chester Andrews is a third-generation farmer who works a couple-hundred acre farm in Mendota. Along with his three sisters, Andrews’s family has toiled on the farm for more than 100 years.
“I’ve been targeted by environmentalists simply because we incorporated our farm to save precious tax dollars,” he said. “But we are a family-run farm.”
Their almond and pistachio trees are threatened by the lack of water and the only thing keeping them alive right now is the well water the farm procures. However, this year the level has dropped by 60 feet and Andrews fears his water will completely run out within a couple of years.
All this anguish is created by the Delta Smelt fish. Families are losing their livelihoods overnight – all for something they cannot eat and something that threatens the state’s bread basket’s very existence.
“They are killing us,” Andrews said about the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
Patriots drove from all corners of the state to show their displeasure with the government. Christina Michas, of Palm Springs, said her most memorable moment so far was when she made a pit stop at Harris Ranch in Coalinga.
“The employees told us about all the hardship in the Central Valley and they all knew some affected by the current crisis. It was very, very sad.”
While Michas was dining and talking to the locals; California Senator Diane Feinstein walked in with her Secret Service entourage. “Let’s just say she isn’t very popular here.”
Earlier this year, Feinstein said she would make sure the food pantry’s received money and food to ease the crisis, yet simply turning on the water would solve the problem and allow the residents to earn a living and not take money from the government.
In an interview this week with the Fresno Bee Feinstein said, “There are 30 lawsuits on the biological opinions and two separate opinions, one for the Smelt and one for the Salmon. The rules need to be reconsidered.”

Methinks the government has awoken a sleeping giant.
Up to the point where I left the Capitol (mid afternoon), I observed a peaceful event with folks from all backgrounds coming together to oppose the socialist agenda put forth by Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Feinstein, and Kennedy.
Our state and country are in the red yet the politicians won’t discuss one huge problem that would save us billions - illegal aliens and their anchor babies. Obama and Arnold will not touch the subject. Why is that?
Obama is a naked socialist. On tape he has proven to be a liar about his campaign promises yet one area he was honest about where most people ignored or didn’t believe was his socialist agenda. The media can spin his words for the outcome they want but it’s undeniable that he is a socialist. Time to put partisan politics aside and for us all to recognize Obama is a danger to this country. He is already the worst President in modern history and needs to be impeached. Problem now is who is worthy of the Presidency? Both sides are a disaster.
After leaving that last post something donned on me. Let me take back that impeachment comment because, if I'm right, impeachment of Obama would leave Biden in charge then after him would be Pelosi. We need to find an actual Patriotic candidate then remove Obama and have a new election. This idea may sound extreme or not thought out but can this country take another three + years of this?

The 6,000 number seems way too low...I was in Fullerton, earlier this year, and there were est. 15,000 - this was a lot bigger by far! Hard to get good estimate because, though the masses were in front of Capital, other crowds were across street in the park and along sidewalks to either side of Capital...I walked around quite a bit and it was AWESOME!
If you want to see the TRUE Spirit of America returning, GO TO THESE TEA PARTY PROTESTS! Wake up your family, friends and neighbors - there were 'confessed' Democrats, Republicans and Indpendents - I saw one sign that said "50 year Democrat - NO MORE!"
It was a great day in Sacramento Friday! Patriotism and activism equal success! I'd have guessed a larger turnout number than reported, but 4 to 5 thousand totally invested Americans is nothing to scoff at! Everything went well, except for a brief "visit" from a fellow who carried the same old tired message that the Bush administration caused all our woes. NOT! He bore no identifying elements, but i'd bet he sported an ACORN tattoo under there somewhere! This road to a global socialist agenda has been under construction for decades. It's too bad we have taken so long to recognize the obvious, but now that we have...LOOK AT OUR RESPONSE! Let's face it, THE OBAMANATION's spending and borrowing has quadrupled the outrageous actions of the Bush administration as well as his predecessors. This is a non-partisan problem of epic proportions, folks! Drop the "party rhetoric" and join the revolution!

I'm proud of my country for standing up and speaking up. Despite all the intimidation tactics of unions and Acorn, Americans won't accept having their freedom stolen away. We've seen these terrible takeovers in other countries like Cuba and Venezuela. I hope to see a more ethical objective press and encourage all hard working, liberty loving Americans (including Hispanics) to participate.

Dick Armey is paid $400,000 by Freedomworks (Inc & Foundation both pay) to pretend to be a Tea Party instead of REPUBLICAN.

The LEADED TEA PARTY (bring your guns) is run by REPUBLICAN Richard Willich, CEO of Nocatee, Florida-based (MEDICAL SERVICES) MDI Holdings Inc., chairman of Americans For Prosperity Advisory Board. It was a REPUBLICAN State Steering Committee Member 912er Tea Party Activist Challiss McAffee who was arrested for pulling a gun on a homeowner in Idaho recently.
When the facts come out every one of these is hiding their REPUBLICAN identity under the Tea Party label. I hope they break the Repugs into two parties, splitting the far reich KKK vote between them
