San Diego ACORN office is on the receiving end of a protest

Protesters outside the San Diego ACORN office

A group of 30 protesters stood outside a San Diego ACORN office, alerting passersby to their discontent with the community organization groups venture into criminal activity.

Since the BigGovernment.com tapes were released a week ago, San Diego Association of Community Organization Reform Now (ACORN) office has been targeted by the County Board of Supervisors, Governor Schwarzenegger and now county taxpayers.

“We have to continue to keep the pressure on this government and stop the corruption before it’s too late,” said protest organizer Lindy Reedy.

The peaceful protest was not welcome by all. Employees of ACORN called the police. “Yeah, four cop cars showed up, asked us if we were going to stay on the sidewalk and not cause any trouble and we said, yes,” Reedy said. “I think they were on our side. They were super nice and let us carry on with our protest.”

The group of concerned taxpayers also decided to make up their own chant about ACORN, playing off the Obama sing along the school children in New Jersey sang.

“Mmm-mmm-mmm, ACORN really sucks, mmm-mmm-mmm they’re stealing all our bucks, mmm-mmm-mmm, Acorn’s committing crime, mmm-mmm-mmm not on our dime,” is how the little ditty played.

The group declared the afternoon protest a success as 60 percent of the cars honked and they only got the finger once. “A good day indeed,” Reedy smiled.

Put these crooks in jail! Notice how Obummer has close connections to all these criminal groups. He's toast in 2012 if his fraudulent birth certificate doesn't boot him out of office first!

Nice article and glad to see that people are keeping the "pressure" on. Now if our top elected officials would do it as well.

p.s. it should be "passersby" not "passerby's" in the first graf.

Sen Reid is blocking an investigation into ACORN because he's involved in their corruption. RICO the whole lot of congress-critters.

This is hilarious...what's good for the goose is good for the gander...great idea and I'll bet none of the protesters had to be paid to be there. Sign me up!

Ditto to John's correction on "passersby" as the plural of passerby. Also, in my ongoing campaign to get writers to use apostrophes correctly, please use one only when you want to indicate either possession (Pete's watch) or contraction (it's means it is). Aside from these distractions, nice article.

Nice article. Best part is the co-opting of the Obama school children song. This is great! Hope it becomes standard practice at all future Tea Parties and anti-government rallies.

Good for them. It many times only takes a brazen few to get things rolling like the 1999 Tennessee Income Tax Revolt. Never heard of it. The MSM seems to have neglected to report much on this, so go to glennreynolds.com/?p=8 for some details. With the reported 26,000 TEA Party organizations in our great country, we could make life difficult for those cloistered in DC.

Each Wednesday two of us protest the latest congressional and/or administration assault on our economic freedom and civil liberties at a major intersection in the Bel Air, MD; we are the Corner Club. At first one feels a bit embarrassed and unsure, but after a while that goes away as people get used to seeing us, blow their horns in approval and now some stop to chat; last week we had 4 progressives stop and we had two hours of civil conversation. We still get the finger, are called nuts and told to get a life. We have a life, my friend has a small business, and this is just an extracurricular activity.

Dear Examiner, If you had done a bit more of this even-handed reporting over the past decade or so, guess what? You might not be going broke! One day at a time, Examiner. Break the propaganda habit. It may be too late, but at least you'll sink with a smidgin' of self-respect.

'MochaLite says bla, bla, bla', and I say this is no kindergarden class so go p*** up a rope. Casual conversations on blogs allow use of everyday language so take your worthless education and stick it.
Don't worry about O'Dumbo's birth cert. He's already spend $1.3 million (of someone else's money) keeping it under cover. I would rather know the why and what for he and M.O. both lost their license to practice law. Sounds like they were practicing the unlawful. There'a a couple, or dozens, of criminals loose in the white house.

The interesting thing is that now these Dems truly feel the heat for the elections in 2010, now that the organization that assured all dead people and cats and dogs got to vote is now very possibly blown out of the water. They are running scared now. It's great to see.

Way to go San Diego! Acorners should be tried for treason. In the time of War they have subverted the United States of America's financial structure and conspired with known 3rd world dictators who are stated enemies to Western Civilization aka America and her allies. Life imprisonment and repayment of all moneys that came from the American people in form of taxes.
