San Diego- This is termination of employment from ‘we the people.’ It was clear outside California Senator Barbara Boxer’s office; ‘we the people’ were giving her a pink slip for a variety of reasons.
“She is not holding town hall meetings, she is not coming to San Diego and she refuses to answer questions about her votes in Washington D.C.,” says Linda Reedy a furious California voter.
Approximately 200 protesters from both sides of the isle stood outside Boxer’s office, parading their signs for all to see. From the onset, the Tea Party movement had a clear message that resonated with passerby’s in the downtown location.
Many of the people walking by stopped to thank the protesters for doing everything they were doing. Also, many passing cars and trucks honked their horns in support of the anti-health care protesters.
The health-care protest 'mob' attracted younger people to senior citizens.
“Doesn’t the government and people recognize this will cost our country a trillion plus dollars?” said Ann Holley, a senior who came to see what all the fuss was about. “Why hasn’t there been more discussion about community clinics similar to what we have in my town?”
Others were concerned about the free market in this country. Recent college graduates, Jessi Bridges, 24 and Britni Chadwick, 24 said, “We care about the direction our country is going and we care about our future.” They found out about the protest at an online community – not the Tea Party Patriots where a lot of the demonstraters are learning about protests and town halls across the country.
The lunchtime festivities were also recorded by the local news. One broadcaster found himself in the middle of a rude and in your face proponent of a single-payer health insurance program.
Another senior citizen who was holding her sign along the street said, “I was given the middle finger one-inch from my face by a young person with no respect for me whatsoever. It was my generation who sacrificed the most.”
In the meantime, small groups of protesters were escorted up to the Senator’s office to hand deliver their letters and petitions.
Once inside the office the group was greeted by a single employee who had no knowledge other than the fact that Senator Boxer has not been in the office for at least two years.
“You want to know why we are upset? She won’t even meet with her constituents, she is disrespecting the people,” Reedy said. “How is it she can vote on issues when she hasn’t bothered to visit San Diego in two years?”
The argument is the same across the country and as August continues, canceling or not holding town halls will only lament the anger constituents feel about their lawmakers. Protesters are hopping mad and they are not going to take it anymore.
“And by the way, no one is paying me to be here,” Chadwick said.

Boxer, Pelosi, Waxman, ... socialist tyrannts. California is going to show the rest of the country just how much we love freedom. We don't cling to guns and religion. We have our arms and we have our faith. We cling to the flag and the Constitution of the United States of America.

The scene was the same down the street at Sen. Feinstein's office! I was in a group that was in the Senator's office presenting questions to a staff member when one of her 'supporters' came in. He started arguments over things about which he knew nothing. He pretty much admitted he had not read the Bill (as it was obvious most members of our group had!) yet raised the argument to loud debate, at which point we were asked to leave - not him!
The overwhelming sentiment downtown San Diego was that we, the people want the government to keep their prying hands OFF our health care - and their noses OUT of our private business!

Since when are concerned citizens a MOB? When the state-run news outlets say so. This is straight from DNC and the White House - in their talking points.
Get real - these elected officials need to listen to the People.
I was not able to attend the protest last week, however, I was out front on July 17th and experienced most of what you described in your comments. In fact, the person pictured in Boxer's office was behind the desk when we went upstairs that day. I actually had to tell her enter my name and zip code into the computer and wait until she finally figured out that I wanted a response from "Call Me Senator" Boxer concerning her reaction to the protests. The poor girl lacked any real training to handle a situation that required interacting with actual citizens. Never heard a thing from her about it one way or another. Of course, she's really busy with her book tour, and I guess we were just too well dressed to be considered "serious protesters." From what I understand, Barbara Boxer has not stepped foot inside that San Diego office in over two years.
I would not have you protest any less against the creeping socialism that is health care reform. I only ask this... that as the Washington harridan hears your earnest complaints, you allow a double meaning for your righteous protestation. And when you let go your angry yells at her support of that monsterous attack on our personal liberty, some few will be... against the climate change hoax.
Unlike Ms. Boxer who was born in Brooklyn, New York, I was born in California, as was my father. At the time of her running for election to the Senate in 1992 she was commonly known as Barbara Bounced-Check Boxer for having the worst record of bouncing checks in the House Banking scandal. In response to her indiscretion BC Boxer issued a statement saying "in painful retrospect, I clearly should have paid more attention to my account" and wrote a $15 check to the Deficit Reduction Fund for each of her 87 overdrafts. A poll for Newsweek magazine at the time found that 78 percent of 513 adults interviewed would be unlikely to re-elect their member of Congress if they were among the worst of the overdraft writers. Unfortunately California chose to elect Congresswoman Boxer to the Senate despite her clear incompetence. I finaly left California with utter discontent due the overwhelming numbers who re-elected her, I couldn't live with the diminished intelegence of CA.
The days of tax, spend get reelected in california are over, just ask state politicos. now is time to send msg. to washington as well, bolth our senate reps. must go, boxer will be first.
we need two new reps. in the senate. future of our children is in danger not to mention our own, we must get out, vote this people out of office.
