Pro-amnesty groups push for illegals to be counted in 2010 Census

Let the counting begin. In a few short months, the U.S. government will begin its accounting of the American people and illegal immigration activists want to make sure the count includes those here illegally.

In an effort to curtail funding and add additional state legislators, Senator David Vitter-R LA has proposed an amendment to the Commerce, Science and Justice Appropriations bill asking census takers a question about U.S. citizenship.

Pro-illegal immigration activist groups are concerned that the question could chill the participation by those in the country illegally.

Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) made the following statement regarding the 2010 Census count. “The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution clearly states that members of the House of Representatives are apportioned according to a complete count of each state’s residents.”

They contend that members of Congress represent all residents in their districts, not just those who can vote.

“For example, we count children in the Census for apportionment purposes in order for states to receive adequate funding and resources to meet the needs of children and families,” MALDEF said.

The funding and legislators is exactly what many Americans are concerned with, especially since the country is in the middle of a difficult recession.

“If the current census plan goes ahead, the inclusion of non-citizens toward apportionment will artificially increase the population count in certain states, and that will likely result in the loss of congressional seats for nine other states, including Louisiana,” said Vitter.

There are traitors in our government that don't give a damn about this country or the American people. Of course these traitors want illegal aliens counted, it increases their political power over American patriots that oppose them. Why should invading criminals be given representation in our government? That is treason! Vote out ALL incumbents and take back our country. There is no such thing as a law abiding illegal alien. Americans will NEVER accept another amnesty! WAKE UP AMERICA!

It's not enough that illegal aliens have already committed a crime by sneaking over our borders in the dead of night. Now they want to be treated like actual, legal citizens. I blame Washington and the incessant need to glorify themselves and their party by receiving the lion's share of the votes, even if those votes represent criminals. America has had it up to here with the corruption in Washington and we will vote each and every scoundrel out of office. We won't put up with amnesty. We are taking our America back!

Inch by inch hour by hour, traitors in the administration plot against the American citizenry in favor of forgein nationals, who have contributed squat. There are people who are allowed into the U.S. by devious political action groups, who then immediately go on welfare the moment they arrive here. AMERICANS NEED TO WAKE UP BIG TIME.

Human Being, as a gentleman and American citizen, I appreciate your efforts and no doubt believe that those sources actually printed the information you cited. However, the fly in the ointment is, that, those are all MAIN STEAM MEDIA SOURCES, and therefore, as almost every intelligent and informed American understands by now, CANNOT BY TRUSTED. Oh, yes, trust is the issue on this whole immigration debate, and the administration is failing that trust.

Wow Bobby - so all Obama needs to do to get your support is have the NY Times write that he's a communist and you'll trust him?

Maybe they should throw in a "ban all immigrants" editorial and you'll suddenly embrace the illegals?

Your approach to life is simply "I'll believe the opposite of whatever you tell me?"

Must be nice to have such a simple view of the world.

Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) has been advising an amendment to the Commerce, Justice, and Science appropriations bill that would require the U.S. Census Bureau to add questions regarding immigration & citizenship status to the 2010 decennial census. If these questions are not endorsed it is certain that illegal aliens will be counted in the census and states will lose/gain Congressional seats and large amounts of federal funding (and electoral college votes) due to this counting of illegal aliens. The only states that will greatly benefit from the original Census are the illegal immigrant SANCTUARY STATES, such as CALIFORNIA.

I see that Human Being, La Raza's Minister of Propaganda, has stopped by to copy and paste the same biased, deceptive, and out-of-context "facts", "statistics", and "quotes" that he/she has posted on many forums and message boards. Human Being has also posted the same manipulated poll results that he/she has posted many times before. One of the deceptive things that Human Being does is to blur the line between legal and illegal immigration, and as a result, most of his/her "facts" and "statistics" become completely meaningless. Also, as we all know, poll results can be easily manipulated by wording a poll question in a certain way, and/or by controlling the number of answers that a person can choose from in answering a poll question.

Human Being has the thankless job of trying to convince Americans that having 15-20 million (or more) illegal alien lawbreakers in the United States is good for this country.

So I assume that you question the recent 'Zogby poll' commissioned by the anti immigrant hate site 'Center for Immigration Studies' (CIS) that purports to find that people in Mexico think that granting legal status to illegal immigrants in the United States would encourage more illegal immigration to the United States?

    cis.org/ZogbyPoll-EffectsOfAmnesty

After all, 'poll results can be easily manipulated by wording a poll question in a certain way, and/or by controlling the number of answers that a person can choose from in answering a poll question' right?

Wow, I feel honored that La Raza's Minister of Propaganda has directed a question to me personally.

To answer your question regarding poll results, the key word that I used was "can", as in poll results "can" be easily manipulated. This wasn't meant to imply that EVERY poll result is manipulated. I simply meant that if a pollster were to desire a certain result from a poll (for political gain, for example), it would be fairly easy for him to rig the poll to produce the results he wants. Understand?

GSR, you missed the point totally. No, I did not say I believe the opposite of what I hear in life. You see, life is a very big affair, much larger than the Main Stream Media, whos numbers by the way, are down to an estimated 18percent of people who look to them for information. DON'T YOU GET IT YET? You may be the one with the simple view of the world, if you rely on MSM for truth. The great philosopher Plato said, "it takes all of our knowledge in order to make the truth clear." Now do you actually believe the MSM is the source of all of our knowledge? You see the problem now??

The Center for Immigration Studies is not anti-immigrant, nor is their website a "hate site". The Center for Immigration Studies is actually pro-immigrant. As far as their website being a "hate site", I wouldn't expect La Raza's Minister of Propaganda to be honest or truthful on any matter regarding immigration, either legal or illegal. Apparently you have chosen to follow the lead of the Southern Poverty Law Center which automatically designates any group a "hate group" and any website a "hate website" if they speak out in opposition to illegal immigration.

You make no sense at all. Did you suffer a major head injury sometime in your life? Illegal aliens are lawbreakers, and laswbreakers are supposed to be arrested. So, do you feel that we should leave American lawbreakers alone because they are just trying to live their lives?

Most Americans alive today were either born in this country or they immigrated here and then became U.S. citizens. So most Americans did NOT sneak across the border.
