Constituents focus on health care despite Obama's attempt to redirect to CIA matters

While the President enjoys his time away from the health care quagmire taking place around the country, town hall attendees continue their push to enlighten their lawmakers.

In a veiled effort to change the country’s talking points, the White House decided to announce that a special prosecutor would be named to investigate a dozen CIA interrogations during the Bush Administration.

Political pundits say this is just another ploy to change the topic from health care. This particular witch hunt into the CIA could backfire because the majority of American’s do not want this investigation, according to Rasmussen Polls.

Many questions remain direct and focused on health care issues. A biggie is, 'Will the health care reform bill include coverage for those in this country illegally?' The President continues to say absolutely not.

However, there have been many attempts to add safety measures to ensure illegal aliens do not receive care and all have been voted down. A plan known as the Heller amendment was written by Rep. Dean Heller, R-NV, and wanted to include clauses that mandated checks similar to E-Verify in order to qualify for government subsidized health insurance.

The Heller amendment went down on party lines.

This amendment would include prospective applicants to pass through two programs the government already uses. The two identification processes the Heller amendment would use are programs the federal government already employ; The Income and Eligibility Verification System (IEVS) and the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE).

The Heller amendment author said, “It would better screen applicants for subsidized health care to ensure they are actually citizens or otherwise entitled to it.”

A recent Rasmussen reports poll states, 80 percent of Americans oppose covering illegal immigrants in the $1.6 trillion health care bill.

Lawmakers have being telling constituents Section 246 of the House health care bill states; “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payment for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.”

However, the Pew Hispanic Center estimates there are more than 8 million illegal immigrants have legitimate jobs in this country.

Leading one to question why not add the two verification processes the government already uses for entitlements programs in order to quell the concern?

If another AMNESTY sneaks past Americans, then their must be at least a ten year moratorium of the 20 million plus Path to Citizenship recipients. The consequence for these millions getting immediate access to government welfare, would be financial ruin to our national wilting economy.

We are still conveying many entitlement programs to illegal aliens and their families, with extorted taxes including health care. That is given in the hospitals and passed onto taxpayers. We have always been the recipients of business welfare and likely always will be? Pariah businesses that hire illegals, never pay anything to their support. THATS THE TAXPAYERS YOKE TO BARE! . GET RAW ANSWERS AT NUMBERSUSA Contact those in WASHINGTON no more AMNESTIES. USE ATTRITION TO DEPORT THEM THROUGH E-VERIFY, 287 G, NO MATCH SOCIAL SECURITY LETTERS AND LIGHTENING ICE RAIDS. CONTACT YOUR POLITICIAN 202-224-3121 AND DEMAND NO WEAKENING OF CURRENT LAWS?

My health care experience was mainly in England, Germany and 15 months in Australia and prior to the mass European immigration invasion was positively first class. FIRST CLASS AND EXEMPLARY! THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS RATIONING?

Of course the status quo doesn't want any change in the trillion dollar medical complex, because it could strictly confines a multitude of new common sense laws? Sadly, I have listened to lies sprouting from the special interest lobby over the airwaves for weeks. Trouble is, a majority of the American people believe this garbage that we are constantly bombarded with? Remember if a Path to citizenship is passed, million will be assigned to Health care because they will get a green card and have become a permanent resident. Either way we the taxpaying public loses? YES! There should be a public option, but not for illegal immigrants?

Who do they think they are fooling? Everyone knows Obama and Congress fully intend to let the illegals continue to get free healthcare. If not, then add the verification clause to the bill. My thought is only emergency life or death care for illegals and once they are stabilized, deported back to their own country so their own government can pay for their healthcare. Please let your reps and Senators know that Americans are tired of footing the bills for the illegals and their many anchor babies and want out immigration laws enforced so we don't have to deal with these issues. FYI, they are also going to count illegals in the census too. They are not citizens and should NOT be counted. This will effect high illegal states with extra representation and federal funds.

Obama & other Dems have tried their best to obfuscate this issue:

On the Michael Smerconish Show, Obama said "This has been an example of just plain misinformation out there. None of the bills that have been worked on in Congress, and none of the proposals coming out of the White House propose giving coverage to illegal immigrants - none of them... So everybody who is listening out there, when you start hearing that somehow this is all designed to provide health insurance to illegal aliens, that is simply not true..."

Obama was clever - and deceitful - in his use of the word "designed."

Sure the bills aren't "designed" to give federal health care coverage to illegal aliens. But they would get it nonetheless were ObamaCare to pass, because Democrats don't want any enforcement mechanisms within Obamacare that would verify citizenship status.

    Don't ask, Don't tell!

It is like having a law that sets the drinking age at 21, & then bars don't verify the age of those drinking.

    More:

Nathan Dean (R-Ga.) offered an amendment that would have required verification of immigration & citizenship status of those who signed up for Medicaid. It was defeated on an almost party-line vote & came short of passing by 1 vote.

His amendment met the same fate as Heller's amendment.

Democrats want a "Don't ask, Don't tell" program for illegal aliens if ObamaCare passes.

John Stossel reported that Medicare is $30 trillon in the hole. Social Security is $46 trillion in the hole. The Obama administration - after only 6 months - revised their figures and said that they project a $9 trillion deficit. That is far beyond what Big Government George Bush spent. BTW, that's TRILLION for each one.

If ObamaCare doesn't finally break the bank, what will? It will be just like every other federal program: massive cost overruns. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office ripped Obama's statements that his plan would lower costs and only cost $1 trillion over 10 years.

Yes, indeed - and when that Obama misdirection didn't work, he cleverly arranged for Ted Kennedy to die and take over the news cycle.

If you look hard enough for conspiracy, you're certain to find it.

Democrats can say all they want that HR 3200 says that there will be "no federal payment to undocumented immigrants."

But rational people can see that when the Democrats intentionally defeated the amendments (Rep. Dean Heller's amendment in the House Ways and Means Committee (which would use SAVE and IEVS) and Rep. Nathan Deal's in the House Energy and Commerce Committee) that would provide a mechanism to keep illegals from getting health care benefits that it was to provide a loophole for illegals to get said benefits.

Those who just chalk this all off as conspiracies do so to provide cover for those who wish to allow a loophole for illegals to get federal health care benefits under ObamaCare.

The Federal gov't already uses SAVE and IEVS to keep illegal aliens from getting federal benefits in multiple gov't programs.

But Democrats sure as heck don't want any amendment that keeps illegal aliens from getting federal health care benefits under ObamaCare.

Morons (like Shaking My Head) chalk things up to being conspiratorial when they are - like now - faced with the evidence that Dems left a loophole for illegals to benefit under ObamaCare by them intentionally defeating amendments that would keep illegals from getting health care benefits under ObamaCare.

    Moron.
