Nogales Border Patrol agents were involved in a shoot out on Sunday North West of the city. The BP agents responded to a sensor that was tripped near the U.S./Mexico border and were greeted with fire from alleged illegal aliens.

Inside sources say the illegal aliens were smuggling drugs and were armed with AK-47s. Once the Border Patrol arrived on the scene the illegals fired their weapons and BP agents returned fire. There were no injuries reported.

Nogales Border Patrol spokesperson, Mario Escalante said the incident is under investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is looking into the confrontation. “The shooting incident happened, but it is still part of an ongoing investigation so I can not provided further details that could hinder our inquiry into the matter,” Escalante said.

In a separate incident outside Tucson, Arizona, a man’s body was found with an apparent gun shot wound and his body set on fire in a known drug smuggling corridor.

A spokesman from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Jason Ogan said they received a phone call from Border Patrol agents who saw a vehicle drive into Ironwood Forest National Monument area near the location of the body. The BP agents said the truck looked suspicious and it didn't have any lights on in the early morning hours.

"They heard what sounded like a gunshot and then saw flames originating from the area. The vehicle left at a high rate of speed on Reservation Road. Border Patrol followed (the truck) but eventually lost sight of the vehicle,” according to Ogan.

The deceased and burned body was identified by Pima County Sheriff’s Homicide team as Nael Alfredo Garcia-Moreno.

So far there are no suspects in the case. “The investigation remains in the preliminary stages and it’s too early for forensics details to be processed,” Ogan reported Tuesday morning.

Holy crap! A firefight with drug smugglers with AK-47s on our side of the border? Where is the military response? This is insane. How many brave BP agents must die before we deal with this problem?

Yeah I know and you might actually have to work for your pension instead of sit around the station house and lift weights until the annual fire starts.

Good job Kim. Apparently YOU are the only true news reporter around. The ridiculous MSM doesn't see this as important, somehow. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

Your report makes me think you were there, love those inside sources. My hope is that any investigations can be tracked, and the public can see feel and hear some progress of law enforcement. We need to believe that if we are praying for BP safety and protection, that prayers are effective. How does the average American consider small skirmishes along the forward edge of battle be able to assess the war's casualties balanced with the resources expended?

Of course the MSM doesn't want to report on this, after all it might embarrase our Supreme leader and his do nothig DHS Secretary. Why if the Obamanation was to actually secure the board then dthe drug lords and human smugglers couldn't continue to provide the US with Democratic voters to replace the ones that are fleeing back to Mexico because of SB1070. Now we can't have that, all these illegal democratic voters are the only way Obamanation can hold onto power.

The government puts our troops at the borders to help the border police. They do not have the ok to use thier weapons they are advisors. useless waste of our tax money.Swear the troops in give them the right tomeet force with force that would triple the amount of manpower and make a difference. When illegals are captured put them to work cleaning alcatraz and a 5 year stay with good behavior out in 3 yrs .

Forget immigration. Our problem as a nation is illiteracy. The respondents cannot even spell much less master the intricacies of case, gender, tense, etc. Litle wonder the rest of the world thinks we are a joke.

If you cannot express yourself in a simple sentence, you deserve what the rest of the world feels your ignorance represents..basic stupidity.

Shame on you Bruce! Get your head out of the sand, we have a REAL problem here. Your intelligence is great but get over it....we need to secure our borders or you and your family may be looking for a job in another country out of fear for your lives when this country isn't safe to walk the streets anymore!
