Vita Lee, 103, just three weeks shy of her 104th birthday was minutes away Tuesday from eviction from her home on Penelope Road in NW Atlanta of 53 years that she sharees with her 83-year-old daughter when the sheriff’s deputies and a moving company hired by Deutsche Bank took one look at Ms. Lee, laying in the bed at age 103 and decided not to go through with the eviction.
Channel 2’s Ryan Young was there and said that the family immediately started giving God the praise and thanking Him for still being in the miracle working business.
“I love my home. It’s a mansion!” Ms. Lee said about her house.
Fulton County Sheriff’s deputies and movers intentions were to kick the two women out based on orders from Deutsche Bank but when they arrived at the home and took one look at Ms. Lee, they could not go through with the eviction and turned around and left.
“I saw the sheriff’s, who came to put them out, took off and leave. I gave all glory to God.” Said Community Activist Michael Langford.
Channel 2’s Ryan Young asked Ms. Lee, if she was worried about being kicked out of her home. With the assurance of a prayer warrior on the battlefield for a long time, she replied “No, I knew they didn't know what they were doing. God don’t let them do wrong. The Bible says: "Once a man, twice a child! I'm 104! I'm a child. I know that God said "If things go wrong, He"ll make it right!” Lee said.
The fear of imminent eviction, proved too much for Ms. Lee’s daughter and she had to be rushed to the hospital for medical care.
“Please don’t come in and disturb me no more. When I’m gone you all can come back and do whatever they want too,” Lee said. Hopefully, Deutsche Bank can forgive the remainder of this loan, for” humanitarian reasons” and allow Ms. Lee and her daughter to remain in their home.
