George Strait will release his 38th album, Twang on August 11. The album contains the Top 10 hit, "Living for the Night," a song which was co-written by Strait himself, along with longtime songwriter Dean Dillon and son Bubba. This is the first single released that he has had a hand in writing, and the first co-written song since writing "I Can't See Texas from Here," which was on his debut album, Strait Country.
After selling 67 million albums, and earning 57 No. 1 songs, Strait isn't about to rest on his laurels. Twang contains some of the best music I've heard in a long time. From the honky-tonkin'title cut, to the ballads reminiscent of "Carrying Your Love With Me" in "Out of Sight, Out of Mind," and the Louisiana-styled track, "Hot Grease and Zydeco," to the real departure, a song recorded entirely in Spanish, "El Rey," and the great western story song, written by Strait's son Bubba, "Arkansas Dave," each track shines brightly.
Now, see what George has to say about the songs.
