Whether she's taking over the music charts or winning all the awards, many people have been asking the question, "Is it too much Taylor Swift?"
It seemed after the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, the world came together in support of Taylor Swift, when artist Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech for Best Female Video. People who were unaware of Taylor Swift, quickly took notice of the young talent.
Swift didn't allow Kanye's outburst keep her down. The TV appearances, performances, and interviews involving Taylor have skyrocketed.
Swift recently dominated the 43rd Annual 2009 Country Music Association Awards. Not only did she perform twice on the show, but she also took home every award in which she was nominated. The 19-year-old made history as being the youngest artist ever to win the award for Entertainer of the Year. Taylor beat out the reigning champ, Kenny Chesney, as well as Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban. Mixed reviews from hardcore country music fans about Taylor Swift rattled the broadcasting waves after the awards show. Is it too much Taylor Swift?
The next set of awards are the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 22, on ABC at 8/7 Central. Leave it to Taylor Swift to dominate the categories in all genres. The young star has been nominated in six different categories; Artist of the Year, Pop/Rock Favorite Female Artist, Pop/Rock Favorite Album, Country Favorite Female Artist, Country Favorite Album and Adult Contemporary Favorite Artist. Will Swift reign over the AMA's as she did the CMA's?
Besides the fact fans can purchase their very own Taylor Swift guitar, soon they will be able to purchase her very own line of greeting cards. That's right, Swift's writing talents will now extend from songwriting to writing greeting cards. The greeting card line is expected to premiere in March 2010.
Swift's second-round of the "Fearless 2010" tour recently sold out. As a matter of fact, four of those shows to see Taylor Swift, in the New York area, sold out in an astonishing two minutes. Not to mention Taylor making history with the album. The young star is the first artist ever to score two number one records at Top 40 radio with a country crossover recording. Fearless was released in November 2008, and the album spent more weeks in the number one spot of Billboard’s Top 200 all-genre CD sales chart than any other album this decade.
Then there's the never-ending debate on whether Taylor Swift is dating the teen heartthrob actor,Taylor Lautner, from the new movie, 'Twilight: New Moon.' The two keep quiet about the dating debate, adding to the speculation of their involvement.
With Swift dominating and turning everything she touches to gold, what could the future possibly bring for the teenager?
Is Taylor Swift simply a hypnotizing phase America is going through? Or does she have what it takes to be a shining star for many more decades? Post a comment and let me know!

In 5 years we'll be saying, "Oh yeah, I remember that girl...where is she?". She doesn't have to the vocal talent to survive in Nashville. She's going to be 20 in a few weeks, people are going to realize that her age is no excuse for singing terribly. I mean really-who cares if she writes her own songs if she can't even sing them?
I can't see Taylor Swift lasting that much longer. She's just another teen phase phenomenon, just like Hilary Duff, The Backstreet Boys, Aaron Carter, DreamStreet, hell even the Jonas Brothers have faded....a year ago they were EVERYWHERE, now unless you subscribe to Disney magazine, it's as if they don't even exist. Same will happen to Taylor. All in good time. I give her 3 years before she crashes and burns big time.
Taylor will be around for years and years to come. She has the talent, the look, the voice, and the attitude that is needed. Taylor is awesome :)
Terrible Singer, but a sweet girl. Hows shes gotten where she is, beyond me. I feel like looks and how marketable you are is what dominates the industry. The talented people are the ones who never get picked up because they don't fit the profile.
She's a prodigy. Who writes songs at 13 that wind up as #1 singles?
And anything she wants to do, she succeeds brilliantly, from SNL to her headlining tour. Plus she's a down-to-earth real person that her fans truly trust andlove. Has there ever been a female who so truly captured the teen psyche? Or one who could dominate a stage in an almost Jagger-esque style as she does? My bet is she's a special talent who will constantly challenge herself, evolve and surprise us.
With so many haters, I would say she's going to last a looooong time. You know what they say, you've really hit it big when every fugly person turns green just looking at you. Anyway they said the same thing about
Madonna 20 years ago. "she sings terrible, she won't last long, blah blah". She's still here.
I think she will be around for a while. The girl is really likeable, she seems genuinely sweet and humble. She's very talented, maybe not so much vocally but music goes farther than that, and she makes up for it in other areas. Besides she's got time on her side, she's young with plenty of time to train her voice as she matures as an artist.
Taylor seems to be a real sweetheart with great talents. She'll make it! Hopefully she won't turn into another Britney Spears!
Thanks for the comments! I certainly don't think Taylor Swift is exactly a bombshell when it comes to looks. She is a very pretty young woman, however. I do believe it's her innonence, charm, and personality that assist in her success. Talent as a songwriter is apparent with Taylor, but as a vocalist, I feel she's not as strong as Martina McBride, per say. However, her expressions through her lyrics and her portrayl of them while singing are captivating to so many who have gone through what she is singing about in every song. I believe this is how she draws in an audience. It's real feelings and thought in every song, that many people have felt in their own lives.
Taylor is a wonderful talented artist that will be around a long time to come.
She's a phase. A beautiful, wonderful phase.
I love Taylor Swift, and she will continue on!
