Being selected to sing at the Super Bowl is quite an honor.

Carrie Underwood joined an elite group of stars who have belted out the Super Bowl National Anthem, including Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Harry Connick, Jr., Garth Brooks, Natalie Cole, Vanessa Williams, Luther Vandross, Cher, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, the Dixie Chicks, Beyoncé Knowles and fellow American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson.

With her hair tied back and dressed in a white pantsuit, the Oklahoman sang the anthem in less than two minutes.

Some say Carrie Underwood nailed the national anthem last night at Super Bowl XLIV, in Miami, Florida, while others say she over did the anthem.

Last week, when Underwood began preparing for the Super Bowl, she wouldn't say if she was rooting for the Indianapolis Colts or the New Orleans Saints.

Though, she did give an extra one percent of winning to the Saints.

Carrie admitted to be rooting 51 percent for the Saints.

Did the extra percent help the Saints win?

Probably not.

It seems the reason Carrie Underwood wanted the Saints to win is because the New Orleans Saints' coach, Sean Payton, came to one of her concerts.

And, the Saints did win against the Colts, 31-17.

Calling all coaches: Make sure you go to Carrie's concerts this year or your team won't win the Super Bowl if they make it that far.

CAN'T BELIEVE I missed her sing the National Anthem. I was watching the pre-game, started channel surfing, got interested in this "History of Soul Train and Don Corneleus" documentary - and the next thing I knew it was the coin toss! Totally missed it.

I thought Carrie did amazing! She was flawless on every note until the very last one which was a tiny bit flat, but overall she rocked it! At least she sang it live, unlike Jen Hudson, whitney, Beyonce and others who all lip synced. Carrie was fearless to sing it live, and I applaud her. Taylor Swift could NEVER have sung it like that. lol

Melissa - I agree!!! Taylor Swift I am quite sure couldn't nail it. Carrie did a good job, but I think I've seen her perform better. I notcied Queen Latifah had issues with her wire connections & ear connection, so who knows. Even a small glitch such as that can throw it off.
