While news of the final nominees for the 2009 CMA Awards will be carried live Wednesday, Sept. 9, on ABC's Good Morning America, the live coverage of this year's CMA nods won't end in the national show's New York studios.

In addition to the 8:30 a.m. GMA news about this year's finalists, which will be delivered with help from country music's Lee Ann Womack and Darius Rucker, the CMT studio in downtown Nashville also will be in the mix to help deliver related news via a special edition of the cable network's CMT Insider program.

Specifically, following the initial nominee announcements on GMA, Country Music Television will broadcast live from Music City, with exclusive coverage of the remaining CMA Awards categories that aren't shared on network TV.

To help the cable network in its task, Universal Records South artist Randy Houser will join CMT personalities Cody Alan and Alecia Davis as they reveal the remaining CMA Awards finalists on Insider Special Edition: 2009 CMA Awards Nominations, which will premiere at  9 a.m. (Central) on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

The special will re-air on CMT immediately following the live broadcast at 9:30 a.m. (Central) and again at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12,  and at 10 a.m. (Central) Sunday, Sept. 13. Additionally, CMT.com will stream the nomination special following its on-air premiere and post breaking news coverage on the site in a special online edition of Insider News Now.

"I watched both CMT and the CMA Awards most of my life growing up in Mississippi, so it's a real honor to announce the CMA nominations live on CMT," Houser said.

 About Randy Houser

The Los Angeles Times has said Houser is adding "grit to the genre" on his debut album, Anything Goes, which has positioned the Mississippi-born, country singer and songwriter to become one of the next big artists to emerge in the genre.

Houser has received a great response from both fans and radio programmers with his debut single, the gripping, emotional ballad "Anything Goes," which catapulted into the top 20 after an appearance on Late Show with David Letterman. His current hit single, "Boots On," is currently No. 2 on the country radio charts, making him the first new male artist to reach No. 2 since June 2006.

As a recording artist and live performer, Houser has quickly earned a reputation for having one of the strongest voices in Nashville and he will be co-headline the national CMT On Tour '09: Jamey Johnson and Randy Houser concert outing that will begin in October and visiting 30 markets across the country.
