Country music's Joe Nichols gets early raves from radio for new 'Believers' single

Joe Nichols will release a new CD later this year.

"Believers" is the brand-new single from country singer/heartthrob Joe Nichols, and per the artist, it's  the perfect fit for him, both musically and personally.

"This song is about passion, (and) when people have passion about something, the sky's the limit," Nichols said.  "It's also about believing in something bigger than what's right in front of you.

There have been a lot of times in my life, both recently and in the past, that I've needed a lot of belief just to move me forward," he added. "This song gives me that."

Nichols' new tune arrived at country radio Monday, March 30, and already the reviews are a collective thumbs-up. Becky Brenner, program director for KMPS FM, for instance, said,  "The message, 'have more faith than the world has doubt,' is one that we all need to take to heart.  This has the potential to be the next 'Impossible.'"  (She refers to one of Nichols' mega-hits, "The Impossible," which was penned by Kelley Lovelace.)

"Believers" was written by Ashley Gorley (Trace Adkins' "You're Gonna Miss This"), Wade Kirby (George Strait's "I Saw God Today") and Bill Luther (Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's "Let's Make Love"), and produced by Nichols' longtime producer Brent Rowan.

The just-released "Believers" also is the lead single from the artist's new CD, which will be released by Universal Records South later this year. The forthcoming CD has no title at this writing, Nichols' publicist, Jenny Bohler, tells me, but the record  is the follow-up to singer's critically acclaimed 2007 release, Real Things, an album that landed on several best of  2007 lists, including the prestigious New York Times.
