If the thought of winning a date with country star Gretchen Wilson causes your heart to race, your chance may be just around the corner.
Of course, "racing" is a key word here. Specifically, the Grammy Award-winning Wilson--in the name of charity and good fun-- will take part in a unique auction, where seven slots to drive a car in a demolition-derby exhibition heat will be auctioned off to the highest bidders.
The grand prize for the winner of the demolition-derby competition will be a date with none other than Miss "Here for the Party" Wilson herself. (Do I hear premature engines igniting already?)
The auction will take place at The Stage, 412 Broadway, in downtown Nashville on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and one must be 21 or older to participate.
Per event organizers, the seven highest bidders will be assigned cars and compete against each other in the demolition derby at a date and location to be announced. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the McClain Christian Academy in Lebanon.
In addition, the auction and demolition derby competition will be filmed for a forthcoming reality-TV program. Wilson fans and "would-be suitors," albeit for a one-time-only date to remember, are urged to place a bid for a chance to drive in the demolition derby.
