Jason Alden will film a live-concert DVD this week and release his Wide Open CD April 7.
COASTING ON THE steady success of his current hit single, "She's Country," platinum-selling singer Jason Aldean will film a live concert DVD in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,600 at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum on Friday, March 6.
"Making a live DVD has been a dream of mine for years," said the Georgia-reared, Nashville-based Aldean. "Now feels like the perfect time to do it because we've just added several new songs from the new album to the set list.
"Plus," he added, "I'm excited to shoot it in Knoxville, because you can't find a more fun crowd. ... They are young and always come ready to party."
SET FOR RELEASE later this year, the high-definition DVD will be produced by Barry Ehrmann and directed by Ivan Dudynsky, according to a March 2 press release.
In the meantime, Aldean's reportedly busy previewing his third studio album, Wide Open, for radio and press at the annual Country Radio Seminar, known as CRS.
The disc's debut "She's Country" single, as noted in a prior Examiner column by this writer, is currently MySpace's most-streamed country song on the Top 40 chart and continues to be one of iTunes' most-downloaded country songs.
