Taylor Swift is a Band Hero and Trace Adkins visits a demon

Fearless
Fearless

Country music fans can catch their favorite artists on more than just radio these days. From producing to video games to television appearances with Rock and Roll Legends, country stars are branching out with a lot of success.

Country’s little darling, Taylor Swift has done everything from acting in the CBS crime drama CSI to CMT’s Crossroad’s playing with veteran rockers Def Leppard. Now fans can catch her in the new video game Band Hero.

Clint Black has gone from producing hits of his own to producing for television. The latest job for Clint is now as the executive producer for ‘American Storytellers’. This new one hour series being pitched for television by ITV Studios will take a classic country hit and create the story visually. There has not been any word on storylines or stars, but the industry is full of artists who are prepared to display their acting abilities. With any luck Clint will look to new country hits as well as old. Conway Twitty’s ‘Hello Darlin’’ would be a great story for the small screen, but ‘Upper Middle Class White Trash’ by Lee Brice would have the audience rolling on the floor.

Another guy who is making his way around is Trace Adkins. Trace is on tour this summer promoting his album ‘X’. Although he is not to scheduled to be back in the Carolina’s, fans can catch him on the West Coast and in the Midwest performing with Toby Keith on the aptly named ‘America’s Toughest Tour’. If you’re like many American’s taking “Staycations” at home instead of vacations this summer, you can catch Trace Adkins on TV. Trace made a cameo appearance this past week on the A&E Reality Series ‘Gene Simmons: Family Jewels'. The hit maker’s talent and experience was called on to mentor an up and coming Nashville act. A side note to the band Simmons was working with, was a group shown on the show for only a few seconds. Jypsi combines great classic mandolin and fiddle sounds with a self described “retro chic’ attitude. You can listen to their music, set debut with Arista Nashville on Jypsi's website or DigitalRodeo.com

Adkins and Rock and Roll’s most prolific fire breathing demon have become friends since competing on the Donald Trump‘s Celebrity Apprentice. "I love Gene Simmons.” Adkins said in an interview with GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. “When he speaks of his children, there is a change that comes over his face. You can physically see it.”

It’s not surprising to see these two hook up. Trace is a big family man as well. He speaks about his wife and little girls as often as he can and he spearheaded bringing national attention to The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network while on the NBC series. Adkins youngest daughter, Brianna, suffers from severe food allergies, making the cause very special to the singer/songwriter. Adkins describes dealing with food allergies as “…a struggle and a learning process.”

Trace and his wife turned to The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network for help, and now he is returning that help as the national spokesperson for the organization. Trace is far from done with TV. Catch him on ABC’s CMA Musicfest: Country’s Night To Rock, airing on August 31st at 8pm.
