The girls of country music hit the road in 2010 [dates included]

As 2009 comes to an end, the women of country music have already developed most of their touring plans for 2010. Carrie Underwood, who just recently released her third album, Play On, already has plans to tour in the spring of 2010. However, Carrie has yet to announce who will be opening up for her, or if she plans to have a co-headliner.

Much like many of the country women before her, including Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift and Julianne Hough, Miranda Lambert is slated to open for Brad Paisley in 2010. While more tour dates could be added in the future, Miranda Lambert is set to open for Brad Paisley until March 6, 2010.

Two of the most succesful females in country music, Martina McBride and Reba McEntire will be teaming up with two of country music’s hottest acts. In 2010, Reba McEntire will tour with George Strait while Martina McBride hits the road with Trace Adkins.

Earlier this fall, Taylor Swift announced that she was extending her “Fearless” tour into 2010. Taylor Swift has invited opening acts Kellie Pickler and Gloriana to tour with her. Throughout February 2010, Taylor and her opening acts will spend eight days in Australia (performing five shows) before heading back to the United States. On March 4, 2010, Taylor Swift will kick off the second leg of her Fearless tour, beginning in Tampa, Florida. So far, thirty-seven shows throughout twenty-two states have been announced. While the tour is currently set to finish up on June 2 in Washington, D.C., it is still unconfirmed as to whether or not more dates will be added.
