Over the weekend, Billboard.com released a sixty second preview of Mama's Song, one of the tracks off of Carrie Underwood’s new album, Play On, due out November 3rd. Carrie fans all over the world took over twitter, facebook and other social networking media sites to talk about the sixty second clip.
At the CMT Invitation Only special, Carrie told audience members that when she sat down for a writing session with American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi ,the two started talking about her hockey player boyfriend, Mike Fisher. The conversation quickly turned to how good he was and within a few minutes, the chorus of the song was completed (And he is good, so good // He treats your little girl like a real man should // He is good, so good / He makes promises he keeps, no he's never going to leave // So don't you worry about me // Don't you worry about me.) Carrie said that the song is a lot like a wedding song, but from a girl to her mama instead of the traditional father wedding song.
