On December 7, Carrie Underwood will host her very own holiday variety special on Fox. The variety special will consist of powerful performances, never before seen duets and even a handful of comedy sketches. Carrie Underwood will have the chance to show the millions tuning in that she is much more than a pretty face with a pretty voice.

Whether she wants to admit it or not, the girl can act. Carrie Underwood showed off her impressive co-hosting skills on the 2008 and 2009 CMA Awards (really stepping it up for the 2009 awards) and will, without a doubt, prove it once again during her Fox special. In addition to the comedy sketches, Carrie Underwood will work with some of the most talented performers in the music industry. Brad Paisley, Kristin Chenoweth, David Cook and Dolly Parton will join Carrie on the stage. Carrie Underwood calls her experience with Dolly Parton a “dream come true” stating that it was “such a special moment for me in the show to be able to perform with her.” Sons of Sylvia, previously known as the Clark Brothers, will also be performing during the variety special. Sons of Sylvia recently recorded a track with Carrie Underwood, titled “What Can I Say” for Carrie Underwood’s third album, Play On.

Carrie Underwood promises that the holiday variety special will be worth watching. “It was a lot of fun to tape and I think we ended up with a great show,” Carrie Underwood stated, in response to the filming and production of the special. Tune into Fox on December 7 at 8/7c to check out Carrie Underwood special.

Carrie is a sweet, humble girl next door. I love her music. She has one of the best vocals in the music industry. I loved her performance of her song "Change" (on her new record Play On) on CNN Heroes. It was a powerful heartfelt performance. If we all did just a little to help others, as the song suggests, we would live in a much better world. I would love it if Carrie started acting. I think she would be great at acting. She sure can deliver a song.
