Yukon gold: Great for mashed potatoes due to their buttery flavor!
Russet: (Idaho) Good used for mashed potatoes, baked potatoes and other dished where potato is the star ingredient.
White: Great for potato salads!
Red: Perfect for boiling, roasting, baking or steaming.
Yellow: Have a yellow inside and buttery flavor and are great for roasting and steaming.
Any of these varieties can be used any way you like! I like to use red potatoes for salads and baking!
