There is a new restaurant open in Wake Forest, just minutes outside of Raleigh, NC. The name is: Route 1 Capital BBQ and the address is: 10012 Capital Blvd.
The place itself is small and quaint, but the service is so warm and welcoming. The employees treat you as if you are part of their family.
The food in this place will knock you off of your feet! They serve the best BBQ I have ever tasted. And the Brunswick stew has won awards in Richmond, Virginia! It is jam packed with flavor as well as chunks of meat and veggies.
For dessert, I was served a heaping helping of strawberry shortcake. Honestly, I am not a fan of the dish, but this serving made me change my mind about that! The cake was a sour cream pound cake and it was served warm. I could not stop eating it!
Our table also ordered the pork ribs and every bone was picked clean.
This is a great place to go for fantastic BBQ. I would go as far as to say that this is the best BBQ, Brunswick stew and strawberry shortcake I have ever eaten in Raleigh (or anywhere).
Route 1 Capital BBQ is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 6am until 2pm.
In addition to fabulous BBQ, they have a full breakfast menu that is served until 11am. I will have to try that next!
