Try this different take on making cookies. You don't have to use the oven at all!
Amy's Electric Skillet Cookies
Heat skillet to 260 degrees. Melt 1 stick margarine.
Add:
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 beaten eggs.
Cook together slowly for 15 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking.
Remove from heat and add:
- 1 or 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 to 2 ½ cups Rice Krispies.
Mix well.
Spread 1 cup coconut on wax paper. Cover with cooked mixture. Pat flat.
Cut into squares.

Interesting! My parents tried to do waffle maker brownies as a Valentine treat for the fam and the results were quite comical.
Interesting recipe, and I just happen to have an electric skillet tucked away in my cupboard. I got it from Freecycle many years ago.
I have made these cookies every xmas since the 70's.
