There are many ways to get creative with muffins! You can make so many different flavor combinations. You can also choose to add a streusel topping. I have a wonderful muffin recipe that I know you will enjoy. I got this recipe from my Aunt and I will not use any other muffin recipe except for this one.
Just as I have written about getting creative with brownies and coffee, I will now write about getting creative with your muffins.
Basic Muffin Recipe
- 1 stick of margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- ½ cup milk
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 2 tbsp. baking powder
- 2 cups of your additives
Preheat oven to 400*.
Cream butter and sugar together.
Add eggs, vanilla, milk and additives.
When combined add in flour and powder.
I like to fill up the muffin pans to ¾ full. It makes for big muffins!
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
Streusel Topping
- 3 tbsp. margarine, softened
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup flour
Mix all ingredients until crumbly..jpg)
Sprinkle over each muffin and bake.
Here are some additive ideas:
- Fruits: bananas, blueberries, apples
- Apples and cinnamon
- Peanut butter
- Jelly
- Nuts
- Chocolate chips or chunks
- Butterscotch chips
- Cinnamon chips
- Caramel chips
- White chocolate chips
- Candy bars, crumbled
- Spices: cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, cloves
- Andes mint candies, crushed
- Pumpkin
- Cookies, crumbled
You can add one or more of these additives to your muffin mix. I would add 2 cups worth of additives.
Try this: Peanut butter, banana and chocolate chips muffins!
