Soft Pretzel with Sea Salt (pretzelmaker.com)
April 26th is National Pretzel Day! Who doesn’t love those large, soft and salty twists? Pretzels are delicious alone or dipped in mustard. Early in the fifth century, a group of German monks invented the pretzel. Believe it or not, they were given to children for the good deeds they performed. This twisted design was done on purpose to mimic arms folded in prayer.
A company called Pretzel Maker is offering a free pretzel on April 26th in celebration of National Pretzel Day. There are many locations participating in this food event. Click on link labeled Free Pretzel to find the location nearest you. A free warm and delicious soft pretzel is waiting for you to grab.
There are various flavors of these home-baked pretzels made fresh to choose from. Some of these flavors are just begging you to go out and get yours today.

The Pretzel Maker Corporation is also providing a variety of food items to choose from. There are pretzel bites, sauces, blended drinks and lemonades. They also came out with a new food design too. It is called the pretzel dog. It looks like the original Pigs in a Blanket appetizer. But, instead of a biscuit or croissant covering, these little hot dogs are wrapped in pretzel dough. How unique is this? What is stopping you? Enjoy your free pretzel and have a happy and healthy National Pretzel Day!

I have never seen those soft pretzels here in MOntreal, only the hard beer pretzels, which are too salty and I really don't like them.
This may be one day we can all share-I never heard of anyone not liking pretzels!
We're all pretzel lovers here. Looks like it's time to break out the mixer and fill the house with delicious pretzel aromas.

Thank you for writing all the interesting facts about one of my favorite snacks. I have never had a soft one before, only the hard ones you find in the chip section at the grocery store. Great interesting read!
Of course, there's be a national pretzel day :) And we should all have a special pretzel !
Now you're speaking my language Beverly. Trips to the Mall have to include 'soft pretzels'(and those from McDonalds don't count). I actually have the recipe. It takes time (yeast and all), but oh so good.
