Deliciously chewy chocolate chip cookies
It's that time of year again...back to school time. Try making your child's day end on a high note by having a delicious snack waiting for them when they get home. Undoubtedly one of the most popular cookies today, chocolate chip cookies come in a variety of textures from chewy to crisp. While there are many versions of the cookie, classic chocolate chip cookies use semi-sweet chocolate chips. Some prefer to substitute milk or dark chocolate chips for the semi-sweet, and may even add nuts to the mix. This modified recipe comes from allrecipes.com and uses semi-sweet chocolate along with a box of instant pudding, producing a chewy cookie that stays soft for quite some time. These cookies are sure to please both the kids and adults.
2 ¼ cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
2 (3.4 oz.) box instant pudding (vanilla)
2 eggs
1 ½ tsp. vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, baking soda, and set aside.
2. Cream butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat in pudding, stir in eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour. Stir in chips.
3. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
4. Bake 10-12 minutes.
5. Yields approximately 60 cookies
