Three year old Osmar Pete Hernandez has sold his third painting for an amount that seems amazing. The three year old painted his piece we call, "The Koi," last year when he was only two. This evening one of his fans purchased the painting for $500.00. That was the asking price for the painting. "The Koi," is not Osmar's most expensive painting. He has another that sells for $2,500.00. It is entitled, "Universal Faces," which he also painted when he was two years old. This painting has a total of seven faces in the painting.
When asked how he paints and has such vivid impressions, we just reply he knows what he wants to place on the canvas and it appears as if it were magic. Osmar Pete, as most of his older friends call him loves to paint and express himself with his paint and brushes. He is one of, "The Art Kids of San Diego County," and he attends class every Saturday with his fellow artists. They accept him as one of their own and he knows most all of them.
He just finished having his third show two months ago in Ensenada, Mexico. He was the special guest at their annual art walk. Here he had his entire collection of paintings on exhibit. He surprised a number of people as they would be enjoying his art when they would find out how old the artist was. When the visitors to the art walk found out that the artist was only three years old they were indeed impressed.
Osmar has been painting now 21 months when he was 19 months old and he has never really stopped. He met his teacher at the Sandcastle Completition in Imperial Beach where his mother wanted him to get his face painted. Instead he grabbed the brush and started to paint. Osmar's teacher then told his mother to bring him to class and that is when his career in art began. Osmar has sold three paintings for a total of $900.00.
