Twigs and Branches - Artist Unknown - Artomatic 2009
Apologies for the long pause in between entries. I spent the last two and a half weeks across the Atlantic Ocean in Spain, mostly to participate in an intensive English conversation program called Pueblo Ingles. I had a few days to travel before and after the program, so I spent a good deal of time in Madrid and visited some of the world's most famous art museums such as the Museo del Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and my personal favorite, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. I hope to share some photos and insights with you all from my travels in future entries, but as for right now, I would like to remind everyone that...
WE HAVE LESS THAN THREE WEEKS LEFT UNTIL ARTOMATIC CLOSES!
Grab your friends and make a day out of it (especially for those of you who are out of work and/or are teachers such as myself who do not have summer jobs), or round up your co-workers and head down after work. There is plenty of food, booze and art to see! Not to mention live musical performances, poetry, spoken word, theatre, film screenings, art demonstrations, etc. on a daily basis. This is a great recession-proof activity! Heck, there are events events for children. Meet the peeps! And... ARTOMATIC is FREE!!!!! (but donations of any shape or form are gladly accepted). Check the full, updated schedule here.
Artomatic is NOT open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but has the following opening hours: Friday - Saturday: Noon - 1 am; Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday: Noon - 10 pm. The event officially closes on July 5th.
BE THERE, OR BE SQUARED. LITERALLY!!!
