Cool iPhone/iPod Touch stuff for Twilight fans

 

The Twilight series of books continues to be atop the best seller lists. The movie was a pretty big hit, another movie is being produced, and the interest doesn’t seem to be waning at all. I know many fans of the series are iPhone/iPod Touch users so I figured I’d take a look at what is available for Twilight fans when it comes to these two great devices. Herewith is my report:

Fans need not carry many heavy books to have their favorites with them, as they are all available in the iTunes App store. They are in Iceberg format, the first three cost $9.99, and the fourth is $19.99 (I’m not sure why this one is twice the price of the other three). Additionally, the books are available from Amazon.com in Kindle format. The Kindle format books cost $6.04 for the first two books and $9.99 for the last two books. You need not be a Kindle owner to use them on your iPhone/iPod Touch as the Kindle application is a free download from the Apple App Store.

 

Also available in the iTunes App Store are a great variety of Twilight trivia games. Quizner’s offers 13 Twilight quiz titles. Most of them are rated 3 ½ stars or higher and all cost $.99 each. Hot Potato has three trivia games that are rated with 3 or more stars and are also just $.99 each. At these prices what do you have to lose? Test your knowledge of the books and characters for not a lot of money and have some fun.

There’s a Twilight clock application available in the App store for $1.99. This application seems pretty well received with a rating of 3 ½ stars. The clock allows you to show the time in one of five Twilight related fonts and in one of eight different colors.

 

There are a variety of Twilight themed skins available to protect your iPhone/iPod Touch. Unfortunately, these skins may not be properly licensed. Here’s how to get it one that is really nice, properly licensed and quite exclusive: If you buy the Twilight movie on DVD from Barnes & Noble at www.bn.com, you will receive a redemption code for a free skin. The code is then redeemed online at skinit.com for your choice of several different designs. The code is good while supplies last or through 9/29/09.
