Microsoft used its CES keynote to not only talk about some of its upcoming products like Windows 8 along with new phones and tablets but also to tout some of the sales statistics for the Xbox 360 and Kinect.
The Xbox 360 has reached 66 million units sold worldwide plus 18 million Kinect sensors. That represents a growth of nearly 10 million consoles over the holiday season while the Kinect essentially doubled its install base year-over-year.
In addition to the sales stats, Microsoft's Steve Ballmer said that there are more than 40 million Xbox LIVE users. This is probably due in no small part to the video and music entertainment options that are continually added to the service.
Microsoft also released a video on Monday featuring some of the highlights from 2011 along with the sales statistics. You can check it out in our video gallery.
