It's not surprising that third party publishers are getting behind Nintendo's 3DS, but EA is putting those other publishers to shame by gushing over the hardware.

During an interview with Industry Gamers, EA COO John Schappert said, "The 3DS is just incredibly cool," he said. "The 3DS is magical. You put that in your hand, you look down, and all of a sudden it's in 3D without glasses. That's an amazing experience. I'm a huge fan. I think that device is going to sell like hot cakes. I think it's going to do incredibly well, and in typical Nintendo fashion, they have re-energized the industry, yet again." They plan on supporting the handheld with games their franchises including Madden, FIFA and The Sims.

When it came to Sony's handheld, the PSP, Schappert was quoted as saying, "I hope they're able to breath new life into [the PSP] because it's been a very nice platform to date, but it has been soft of late." That's something I can agree with, as I try to keep up with games that release on all the systems it's hard to say the PSP has had a great year. Besides the newest Metal Gear Solid game there's not much on the system when it comes to new games.

Personally I enjoyed the time I spent with my PSP, but did find the game selection a low one. If I wasn't playing a GTA title I was sticking with games that held numerous old school titles on them. The PSP will be getting a second God of War game, but it needs more then that to stay in the game.

It's clear to see the PSP Go has been a complete failure, and I've heard first hand complaints about the lack of titles on the system (I told the guy to get a regular PSP and cut his losses). Sony is putting at lot of attention and effort into the Move and getting 3D games onto the Playstation 3, so I doubt the PSP will get any love anytime soon.
