I've played only one version of Dragon's Lair, and it was the horrible NES port that didn't play anything like the arcade game. If you don't remember or never heard of Dragon's Lair, it was a pretty big deal back when it first made it's way into arcades, and this fall you'll get the chance to either relive or find out what the fuss was all about.
Destineer just announced the Dragon's Lair Trilogy slated for the Wii. On the disc you'll get Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp and Space Ace. Now Space Ace has nothing to do with Dragon's Lair, but due to it's style of gameplay as well as Don Bluth's artwork for the game, it's often been lumped in with the Dragon's Lair games.
The games will feature remastered animation, a choice between widescreen and fullcreen, move guides for players who are new to the series, and a "Watch Mode" that let's players enjoy the story and animation. The game itself is basically a long cartoon where you make choices that determine if you live or die in the game, often resulting in a trial and error sort of game. People loved it though, so it's managed to hold onto it's relevance over the years.
The game will retail for $29.99.
