New York Times: no to global warming emails, yes to Stalin, Unibomber, Pentagon Papers

Adopting the snottiest tone imaginable, the New York Times pronounces with an almost audible sniff:

The documents appear to have been acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements that were never intended for the public eye, so they won’t be posted here.

What documents? Revelations about Stalin's famines? Classified information about wiretapping terrorists? The Pentagon Papers? That ultra-leftist Unibomber Manifesto?

Why no, you silly! They're talking about those hacked emails between scientists that strongly suggest that, as many of us have been saying all along, Al Gore's highly touted "global warming" is actually the Loch Ness Monster of weather.

You know? The emails that posit that the IPCC record of temperatures during the last millenium were based on a "crude fax". The ones that "appear to reveal not one, not two, but three real scandals, of increasing importance."

All the news that's fit to print. Except when it isn't. Clear?

The public should read the emails of the Climate research Unit that leaked to the public. This research group controls all the temperature data that has been collected over the last 150 years. They are on eastangliaemails.com/index.php. There is a massive fraud going on. The emails contain an array of discussions including what appear to be concerted efforts to withhold data. Just as troubling is conversations that allude to potentially manipulating climate data to “hide the decline” of temperatures seen in the last decade.

Regardless of what is said in these E-mails,do we really want to risk this. The most dangerous component of climate change is that of uncertainty. Although I do not agree with researchers witholding information from the public it is certain that may somtimes be necessary to avoid confusion.

I have read that the GW emails were the product of the British Freedom of Information Act, NOT HACKED. And they were held for quite some time.

mack, if you and the other believers were around 12000 years ago would you still be screaming about GW? Would you have NOT wanted it to warm and allow the ice sheet to retreat from N America which uncovered the continent north of Maryland?

Anyone who has heard Lord Monckton speak (you can find him easily on YouTube) will know that we have known all along that they were lying to us. His long speech (be sure to view the one with charts) will show the falsified research. Climatologists have measured our earth cooling for 9 years now, but somehow, this also is an indicator of global warming (now PCly called "Climate Change").

My public school and the media had me convinced for years... Until I actually started looking into it objectively. Scientists pursue their self interest like every other individual. they want job security, financial assistance, more scintists, more resources. They have to make things up to get the funding they have. Those who speak out against them are demonized and put their job on the line from the machine within. I am so glad this is finally out for the sheeple to see. Its obvious they try to hide the facts to get their agenda.

Science is not a democracy. All can agree but one. All it takes is the person who is right. That could the the one person. (and likely is in many cases) All that matters is the facts. screw the so called consensus.

This is about regressives and power and control over the mindless masses.

since you mention stalin, i will add some quotes.

“When one makes a Revolution, one cannot mark time; one must always go forward - or go back. He who now talks about the "freedom of the press" goes backward, and halts our headlong course towards Socialism.” -Vladimir Lenin

”America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within.” - Josef Stalin

I am an original liberal. Do not be surprised. I am taking the name back. Its been hijacked. that means I am more likely to agree with true conservatives than modern liberals. Twisted eh? but its the truth. look it up and you will likely see how much you are classically liberal too.

Scholar Leonard Liggio (a self-described classical liberal) holds that social liberalism does not share the same intellectual foundations as classical liberalism. He says,
"Classical liberalism is liberalism, but the current collectivists have captured that designation in the United States. Happily they did not capture it in Europe, and were glad enough to call themselves socialists. But no one in America wants to be called socialist and admit what they are."

Modern-day American liberalism is a descendant of progressivism/socialism. A segment of modern-day American conservatism is the direct descendant of classical liberalism.

I read a description of the Roman city of Ephesus as a thriving, cosmopolitan port on the Aegean Sea during the First Century AD. Now, the high tide is almost two kilometers away, leaving the city’s ruins high and dry. An abandoned small castle on the English coast along the Irish Sea had a quay for tying up ships. Today, the surf line is over one half mile away. Climate change is real. The sea levels obviously rise and fall, often dramatically, in a pre-industrial world. What is doubtful is human activity can have much influence. I wish climatologists would as a group show more honesty, and not cherry-pick disparate facts to buttress floundering theories.

Still not correct. Climate CHANGE is a FACT. It has warmed and cooled many times before and since about 12000 years ago when the ice sheet retreated from N America it has been warming. THANK GOD it warmed or we would not be here today.

Not all that long ago the wacky Lefties were believing in global freezing, later global warming and, more recently, climate change, which is something I think we can all agree on. That's why we go south for the winter.

Throughout recorded history there have been loonies predicting that the end is nigh, for one reason or another, and there will always be those who fall for the nonsense. The Left is particularly vulnerable to this sort of craziness, as Al Gore well knows.

But they will never be detered. In another decade or two there will be yet another charlatan peddling warming, cooling, or whatever and the Left of that day will then swallow it whole as well.

We all know stupid people have the right to their opinions but that doesn't mean that society should ever act on them. The Left should ever be ignored or, at the very least, be identified as such. I suppose branding a big L on their foreheads would be unseemly but it would save a lot of aggravation over the long term.

Grant, ol' boy - not that long ago (before the Clean Air Act) it WAS cooling - because all the crap we were putting in the atmosphere was blocking the sun and masking the warming effect.

Don't believe humans can affect the climate? Look up the contrail study done in the days after 9/11 when all the aircraft were grounded.

You know someone hasn't a clue when they base their belief in a theory on a 3 day study. 3 days is a nano second in geologic time. It supports MY theory that the warmists are mostly like High Priest Gore and Brown Sugar Daddy Obama. They believe THIS exact unchanging climate is THE correct climate for THEIR Earth. They feel they are so damn important in the entire scheme of the universe and its long history. When in fact we are all nothing more than specks of space feces. It is called Narcissism.
Obama and Gore are indeed narcissists.

Nah, 57 (that an IQ, BTW?) - I don't base my understanding on a three-day study. I'm just trying to keep it simple enough for the scientifically illiterate to have a chance of understanding it.

MY knowledge of climate change includes rather extensive paleo-climate studies and several years of studying the peer-reviewed journals and even raw data sources. And my conclusion is that we have been entering a significant warming period that is being significantly influenced by human activities, even if the exact ratios of what affects how still need extensive studies.
