Michelle Obama part of alleged 'patient dumping' scheme in Chicago

Just minutes after President Obama’s disastrous prime-time press conference touting his “health care” plan, FOX News host Sean Hannity aired a special segment about a so-called “patient-dumping” scandal in Obama’s hometown, Chicago.

And the scandal may very well involve First Lady Michelle Obama herself.

As is typical in many large urban centers, many of Chicago’s poor were visiting hospital emergency rooms for non-emergencies. While she was a highly-paid Vice President at the prestigious University of Chicago Medical Center, Mrs. Obama duly concocted the Urban Health Initiative (UHI) as a solution.

Under the UHI, Medicaid/Medicare patients were redirected from the Medical Center’s ER, to small, faraway clinics — thus freeing up the Medical Center’s precious resources (critics say) for the exclusive use of wealthier patients with private insurance.

Thanks to the efforts of Obama’s top political strategist (and long-time Chicago machine player) David Axelrod, the program was launched with millions of dollars in federal funding. According to the Chicago Sun-Times:

Another Obama adviser and close friend, Dr. Eric Whitaker, took over the Urban Health Initiative when he was hired at U. of C. in October 2007. Whitaker previously had been director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. Obama has said he recommended Whitaker for the state job, giving his name to Tony Rezko, who helped Gov. Blagojevich assemble his Cabinet. Rezko, a former fund-raiser for Obama and Blagojevich, was convicted in June on federal corruption charges tied to state deals.

Even though “patient dumping” was outlawed by President Reagan decades ago, critics have told Hannity that the UHI violates “the spirit of that law, if not the letter.”

Sorry but I cannot make out your incoherent post!
I was talking of Michelle Obama's JOB being abolished AFTER her husband was elected! Not "patient dumping".

I ask this seriously. Is there even one Obama appointee that does not have a rap sheet?
This is going to go down as the most corrupt period in American History.

I had read about Michelles plan while researching the Obamas before the election. Two things happened at an intresting time. She developed the patient rerouting plan centered around poor patients and Barack became a Senator. Barack attempted to get $1,000,000 in grant money for the hospital. Michelle recieved a $150,000 dollar a year raise almost doubling her salary.
I could see then that the Obamas were low lifes just like the Clintons and money and power was all that mattered to them. The foundations they champion are just a way to skim off money for themselves andd their friends.

Funny how that happens you get a huge raise for a 20hr a week job as your husband is elected, then the hospital no longer needs that job anymore, how could a job worth nearly $300,000 a year not be needed in the hospital? A little to convenient to me.

We just hope the truth comes out about all the "patient dumping" and whomever's door the guilt falls at should be made accountable for his/her actions.

Michelle Obama aside, it sounds like a good idea to connect these people with clinics so they don't cost taxpayers enormous amounts of money at ER's, just curious, why is sending someone without an emergency to a clinic a bad thing, I am not being argumentative

You can only get a very biased right wing slant on any story when you hear it from Sean Hannity. To throw this rumor out there with couple of lines cut and pasted for effect is despicable The damage to the Republican brand that people like Beck, Hannity and Limbaugh and now you do every day is astounding.
