Canadian writer Heather Mallick
FOX News correspondent Greta van Susteren weighs in on controversial Canadian columnist Heather Mallick, who last week called VP candidate Sarah Palin "white trash" and said she looked like a "porn star".
First Fox's Megyn Kelly took out her anger on conservative Canadian columnist David Warren.
While no fan of Heather's (or the fact that he and other taxpayers are forced to pay her CBC salary) Warren is correct: Heather merely expressed in public what many liberal elites in North America secretly think of Palin but don't have the guts to put into words.
Now Greta van Susteren is calling Mallick "a pig". She does it twice in this interview with Warren (whose columns about the election and other issues are well worth reading. They're collected at his website.)

It is sad that politics has come down to this, but after Obamessiah called Palin a pig the gloves were bound to come off.

I do, however, challenge your clairvoyance. How can you assert Mallick's opinions are what "liberal elites...secretly think of Palin"?
Would you elaborate on this point? Exactly, how many liberal elites believe this? If they think it "secretly", how were you able to qualify and quantify it?

So that's Heather Mallick. I often wondered what a person who could claim a chunk of my tax money to say such things - and feel proud of that fact -would look like. Yes, I see it now.
Last tiem I checked, Trig Palin lives, and Bristol Palin's baby lives.
We are all impoverished, supporting the Heather Mallicks of the world, but clearly we must be winning anyway. Life always wins over death.
The point that Warren should have made about the CHRC was that if Mallick had attacked Obama's followers with the same stereotypes (watermelon and fried chicken) there would have been a complaint.
White Christians can be insulted freely.
As someone who's had the displeasure of hearing Mallick speak in a public forum, I do have to say that she's about as crude a person as they get. While I would tend to avoid calling anyone a pig, the fact is that any honest description of her would find it difficult to use charitable language and would essentially say the same thing, even if the wording were more restrained.
While I don't know if all liberals secretly think of Palin as white trash who looks like a porn star, Mallicks views are from what I've seen probably not all far off from an accurate caricature of what the left thinks, or at least the logical consequence of their way of seeing things. It's all the more reason to pray for a Conservative majority in the upcoming federal election, and some significant cuts to the CBC!

Well Dan Davis ,if you have been following the US election you would know that all "liberal elites" think this way. How do we know? Because they say it publicly every day. Such comments as "Palin's only qualification is that she hasn't had an abortion" or "the only thing she has in common with Hillary Clinton is a cromosome" are very common. And just yestersay Charlie Rangle, the indited Dem senator from NY say that we should be nice to Sarah Palin because she is "disabled"

Anybody who has ever had a discussion with a lefty, even a benign one, will know the truth of Warren's observation that all lefties think what Mallick wrote. The left is full of bull**** aphorisms about gap-toothed, inbred, violent, misogynist and racist "people" that live in the sticks. Mallick is an ignorant sow.

David Warren stated in the interview with Greta that he hears these same setiments for most of his peers in the pres corp. He writes for the Ottawa Citizen and knows most the media people and living in Ottawa, he probably rubs up against a lot of the Liberal Elites.
Further ... I have met many liberals from different backgrounds, and most of them are full of hate for conservatives and say horrid thing like Mallick said. Liberals are so slimy that they probably don't realized how despicable and narrow and hateful they actually are.
If you need more proof, go out socially and start defending the Republicans and conservative points of view to your pals. You will ding out very quickly how bad YOU are.
Heather Mallick is, and has been for some time, a sham of a journalist. That anyone, Canadian or American, would take her seriously is laughable.

I amserving notice that if the lawyers at the CHRC are so adamant about keeping and cherishing section 13.1 of the Human Rights Act, then I am going to start using it on these blowhards and give them a taste of being politically corrected.

It's too bad Ms. Kelly is so aggressive with David Warren. (I hope it wasn't because he is Canadian. David is one of the greatest Canadian pro-USA boosters around.)The byplay makes it sound like Ms. Kelly is denying Mallick the right to write just what's on her mind. And David is put in the position of having to defend Mallick's freedom of speech, which he does valliantly.
Something that alarms me about American critique of Mallick is all the anti-Canadian comments that ensue on the web. This doesn't make life any easier for Canadian centrists and conservatives. It would be nice if people could just focus on Mallick and other journalists' deranged hatred of Palin and demand to know what it is stemming from. (Although the answer is clear: Palin blows apart any notion that pro-lifers don't "walk the talk." They hate Baby Trig just as much as they hate Sarah.)
The CBC gave Mallick enough rope to hang herself. They've done everyone a favour. Mallick is free to sound like a gibbering, hysterical idiot, and we are free to say that she sounds like one. And many of us said so in the forum the CBC provided.
I'm offended by this woman's remarks about Palin. I am not "white trash" and I think Greta was absolutely correct saying she is a pig. Also, Canadian journalists need to keep their nose out of American politics.

Those are ridiculous assertions. Its no more true that "all" liberals make disparaging remarks about Palin than it is that "all" conservatives sexist or racist or whatever other dumb stereotype you want to apply.
You give conservatism a bad name. Conservatism is about ideas and principles and honest debate. Grouping anyone with a different set of ideas and principles all together as "the enemy" is antithetical to true conservatism and only suggests you don't have the firepower to engage in a real debate of those ideas and principles.

Hey, David Warren is a conservative! He's not DEFENDING what Mallick wrote (and I agree that she's a pig: Darn, that feels good!).
He's just saying that maybe she did us all a favour by articulating OUT LOUD what a whole lotta lib-lefties are thinking and saying, and that by the her outing herself we all get to see what a nasty, bitchy, hag of a journalist she is.
BTW, David Warren doesn't live in Ottawa. He lives in Toronto. But, he does get around, and he knows a lot of lib-left journalists. DW's been in the journalistic trenches for a long time and is a veteran of the right/left, right/wrong, conservative/liberal wars.

I don't know if Mallick is a "pig" ... more like a narrow minded censorous jackass. Warren's point that the Canadian left media can get away with communicating stilted class hatred like this, were as a conservative journalist would face CHRC tribunal censorship, tells us all we need to know about the structure and ethics of Canadian culture and media.
