Today in front of an Arkansas Army and Navy recruiting center 23 year old Carlos Bledsoe, who now calls himself Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad since becoming a Muslim convert in the past couple of years, drove up to the recruiting center and shot 2 soldiers - William Long, 23, died, and Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, was wounded. Not all details are out yet and I am sure more are to come but what will be interesting is if there will be any outrage from the left. I believe Bledsoe is an American but that has not been verified yet.
I searched around on various liberal sites to see if there was anything on this story. I found a story on Huffington Post but apparently it’s buried – not on the front page and even some of the moronic commenters are somehow tying this tragic, outrageous, terrorist act to conservatives. They have something about Obama, Sarah Palin’s reaction to Dr. Tiller’s murder etc. My point being that a possible terroristic act was committed on American soldiers IN the United States by a Muslim convert and it’s BURIED. You’ll find PLENTY of blogs about Dr. Tiller’s killer and of course much of the blame points at conservatives.
The only way the left will feign ANY outrage over this obvious terrorist attack on 2 American soldiers is if they can somehow blame the right. No question about this or if they can tie this into THEIR agenda. There was actually a blog that was posted late this afternoon that specifically talks about political violence but makes NO mention of today’s attack. MSNBC has a link to the story in its general news stories. Yes just a link, no photos, no big story.
Will Obama make a peep about this? I didn’t hear any comments from him regarding the huge terrorist bust by the NYPD and FBI that occurred a couple of weeks ago. I heard… crickets. Did I miss something maybe?? Please do tell me if Obama said how proud he was of the terrorists being stopped. Please do tell me where I can find any praise for the people who thwarted this effort by these men that would potentially have caused thousands of American deaths. Please tell me where Obama or anyone in his administration admitted that this is a serious issue in our own country. I will gladly edit this article and insert the information here!
There is no comparison to these 2 American soldiers and Dr. Tiller. They joined to Army to protect ALL Americans and Dr. Tiller provided late term abortions for women to ‘protect’ their ‘mental health’ or whatever excuse these women used at the time. There is no justification for either of these murders. However, because the left is pro-abortion and is sympathetic to Muslim terrorists, there is no way you will see the thousands of outraged blogs over the death of an American soldier on American soil by an ‘American’ Muslim convert! THAT is what is truly outrageous!

So many promises made about representing all Americans, so few promises kept.
This President is as anti-military as they come. Many of his radical supporters are friends of the Muslim fringe in this country and would cheer any attack on an American military office or base. Most of the news media are hostile, as well, while being totally pro-gay marriage and pro-unlimited abortion. Nothing new, but we should keep in mind that this is a cultural war, not a dialogue with Obama. He wants to keep people occupied with talk while he does his power grab.
The liberals will not comment. It will be interesting to see what they say when a big terrorist attack happens and one or more liberals get killed. They'll probably blame Bush. In fact, you can count on it!
This country is too divided to survive as it once was. We are headed for civil war at worst, and division at best. This country would be better off dividing into 3 countries. Take the states that made up the Confederacy and turn those states into a country for all of us conservatives, Christians and religious Jews. Take the northern part of California and turn it into a Gay Republic where gays and lesbians can go and get married and have a gay and lesbian lifestyle and not impose themselves on others, and the rest of the states can be a left wing, Marxist oriented, Venezuela like socialist nation. That way, everybody gets what they want. Everyone would have their own nation.
Obama will not comment on the muslim man shooting two soldiers. He is to busy getting ready to make a speech in a muslim country.
He is to busy showing respect for Islam to show respect for American soldiers.
Remember, if conservatives were in charge, Scott Roeder would still be in prison and Dr Tiller would be alive.
It was liberal justice that set Scott Roeder free to kill.

You know what's really interesting? How some people feel the need to demonize a dead man to assuage whatever shriveled organ they have that passes for a conscience. Dr. Tiller performed late-term abortions either to save the life of the mother or when the fetus was determined to be suffering from a medical condition that would either consign them to something close to a living death for the rest of their lives or result in their painful death shortly after being born. But I guess you'd have to characterize him as a bloody-handed maniac running around the streets dashing children against rocks so you can feel better about an unarmed man being shot in the back while at church.

Rachel Maddow had a good segment about the attack on the soldiers tonight.
I think part of the difference in the coverage is that the attacker of the soldiers is pretty much a lone terrorist while the attacks on abortion clinics have a longer history and are connected with more organized groups. Maybe we'll hear more about it tomorrow.

Cummings or any of the other domestic terrorists with right wing sympathies who have been busted with actual organized plans and the weapons and materiel to carry those plans out. What's that you say? Never heard of them? How shocking that the evil liberal media hasn't indelibly beaten their names into your brains. John, Oregon - not a freudian slip.. just typing too fast :-). Did you check on the web or even the news about the coverage? Apparently Obama did make a comment about Tiller's murder last Sunday. Never heard him say anything about the NYC terror plot recently thwarted and there was a lot less coverage regarding the soldier. Homegrown Jihad is a serious issue in this country and needs to be discussed! I see your point; however, Tiller is still being glorified by the left (seriously being called a 'hero'). Not by all but by many.

I imagine Dr. Tiller is a hero to anyone who still has a mother instead of a corpse. I really don't think that can be stressed enough; these weren't abortions for "convenience" or whatever ridiculous notion you're pushing here. These were cases where the life of the mother was in danger or the fetus would either not have lived long after being born or would have lived suffering every single day of its life. It wasn't just to "protect their mental health" and you'd know that if you actually read anything his patients have had to say. Either that or you do know it and you just don't care. He endured multiple assassination attempts and if were just about the money, don't you think he'd have stopped after the ninth bombing or the first time he got shot? He saved lives and put his own on the line for it knowing full well that some terrorist coward might likely kill him. And now that he's dead, there's one person in the whole country who can perform the same procedures.
So continued from my previous post, an open question for everybody, with only one doctor left willing to perform late-term abortions, how many more mothers get to die in childbirth now? How many babies get to be born knowing nothing but hellish suffering for the entirety of their brief lives? What happens when it's your mother, your sister, your daughter? Will you sacrifice them as well, or will it become a far different story when it's someone you know and love? Would you be able to look them in the eye and say "It's better if you die than to end this pregnancy."? Will you be able to demand that they give birth to a child that will never laugh, never play with other children, never do anything but be in constant and incurable misery?
John that's where you are wrong - not only are there 2 doctors left but this is 2009, how many women do you honestly think will die in childbirth??? Seriously?? Since women can find out at 4 months pregnant or under if their baby will have serious deformities, there is NO EXCUSE for late term abortions - not ever, UNLESS the mother could potentially die in childbirth, and those cases are extremely rare. With all the technology we have today, and personally KNOWING as a mother when they give ultrasounds and what they find out, there is no reason EVER to have a late term abortion of a viable baby.
Oh and John, for the record, I am pro-choice, but I have limits. Have you ever watched the video by Jill Stanek? Look her up on YouTube. She is someone who dealt with partial birth abortions in Chicago as a nurse. And no, the weren't performed on women who would die in childbirth.

And I'm not sure if I understand what you're getting at here, are you okay with more women dying in childbirth because some all ready are, or do you see the number as being low enough to continue be negligible if more are added to it? Either way, that's some incredibly cruel calculations.
Also, since disorders like osteogenesis imperfecta type II usually can't be diagnosed until the fetus is farther along than 4 months since their bones aren't developed enough, I'm going to guess you just pulled that 4 month figure out of the ether. Searching to try and verify your assertion that "women can find out at 4 months pregnant or under if their baby will have serious deformities" finds nothing. Never make up statistics, all it does is set you up to look either like a fool or a liar when someone disproves them.
John I meant that the actual number of women who would die from childbirth is extremely low, NOT that they shouldn't get late term abortions. So I don't see how this calculation is cruel.
And I am incorrect, thank you for pointing that out. I honestly thought that at 4 months they could tell everything. That is my own ignorance as I have never known anyone to deal with issues beyond that. I certainly understand 'late term' abortions in these instances as well. Some of the cases that have been found were parents who had a down syndrome pregnancy (THAT they do find out within an early time frame) but waited and got a later term abortion. I think that is inexcusable - you know right away or even before you are prego if you can handle that situation so then you get a 'regular' abortion - don't you think?
The point of my article was not to get into an abortion debate. It was to prove the point about liberal media not giving equal coverage to the murder of a soldier in America.
Your point would be a lot more valid if it wasn't so easy to find right-wing terror plots that have gotten little to no national coverage. Honestly I think the only reason Dr. Tiller's murder is getting so much coverage is so people can rail about what an awful monster he was. Meanwhile I'd be willing to bet most of your readership has no idea who any of the people in my second post are. They've probably never heard of the Phineas Priesthood, the Order, or any of the other little-mentioned right-wing terror groups who have amassed enough of a body count in this country that the Islamic fanatics needed 9/11 to even come close to catching up. If the media is so horribly, irrevocably liberal, why is it that these groups and individuals are so unknown? Why have we not heard about the people who have ACTUALLY acquired radioactive materials, toxic chemicals and biological agents with the full intent to use them against their fellow Americans?

He came out the DAY Tiller was murdered to say how outraged he was (3 days later after much pressure he finally sad he was saddened by Long's murder).
The liberal media, like Obama, doesn't WANT to report on an American soldier being attacked by a Jihadist partially because Obama is on his Muslim tour and partly because THEY DON'T CARE. I want to see them cover EVERYTHING.. every freak, violent group or extremist so we can be aware of them!!!! I am not particular.. One story does not make a pattern. The supposedly "liberal" mainstream media ignored one story about a self-identified Muslim engaging in an act of violence. They've also ignored dozens of stories of right-wing terror groups that have either killed or tried to kill people and they've pumped up stories like the group with the Sears Tower bombing plot as if those guys actually had a chance in hell of making it happen. This is my point. We haven't heard squat from the "liberal" media about any of the right-wing homegrown terror groups except in rare situations. What we do hear about is fundamentalist Islam-based groups and individuals that usually turn out to be no-hopers who have to have a map drawn for them by the FBI in order to get anywhere near actual terrorist objectives. That's where the claim of "liberal media ignores muslim terrorists" falls on its face. This is more like "mainstream media prioritizes wrong story and gets pilloried for it by overly-sensitive conservatives".
I am glad I was able to clear up the blatant misinformation about late-term abortion though. It is a fact that those procedures CANNOT be legally performed unless the life of the mother is in danger or the fetus is not viable. They are not performed for convenience's sake. Dr. George Tiller wasn't a murderer but he WAS a hero. He saved life and prevented suffering, as doctors should, only he did it under the constant threat of physical harm and death. He did it even though anti-abortion terrorists have been effective enough in using fear to whittle the field down to less than a handful of doctors qualified to perform late-term abortions. And he did it even knowing that were he to be murdered, people would say he had it coming and lie to back that up.

I don't think it's possible by the left. I'm right about my assumption and I proved it right that Tiller was glorified and Long was ignored. What you don't seem to get is that the problem with Americans turned Jihadist and attempting to or actually committing crimes on Americans seems to be growing. And John there ARE women who get these late term abortions for reasons other than absolute ones - their 'mental health' at 8 months is one. I read stories about it from the actual mothers. THAT is unacceptable.
I read recently that the prosecutor in the case requested and was granted a gag order on both sides, in order that Mr. Mohammad might receive a fair trial.
What I suspect is that it was actually put in place to prevent a travesty along the lines of the OJ trial from occurring, where Mr. Mohammad might get off scot-free due to a claim of impartiality of the jury by the defense.
What disturbs me more is that the claim put forth by Mr. Mohammad's lawyer- that Mr. Mohammad was "tortured" and "radicalized" in a Yemeni prison- has been refuted by Mr. Mohammad himself, who insists he was treated "humanely."

The prosecutors asked for the gag order, and the defense attorney is lying.
Thanks for the info Mike - I will be keeping a watch on this one for sure! If he was tortured and radicalized in prison, why didn't he go back and kill THOSE people, not an innocent soldier who hadn't even made it to war yet.
