If you watched Obama’s 5th television conference last night (the same amount that Bush had over an 8 year period), you already know what a debacle the entire conference turned out to be. Not only did Obama not give any details about ‘his’ healthcare bill but he commented on a case that happened in Cambridge recently. As always the questions were selected ahead of time so that Obama’s minions could come up with the answers but who exactly made these up? It is apparent that whoever wrote the answers last night has absolutely no clue about healthcare OR the 'racial profiling' case in Cambridge.
Within the first few minutes of his speech Obama lied of course – quoting the false number of 47 million uninsured in this country. I will not go into further detail as I already spoke about this in my previous article but I had bets going as to how long it would take before he quoted some of the scare tactics that the liberals keep touting in order to get people to jump on the healthcare from hell bill. He also stated that "The overwhelming majority of Americans want health care, but millions of them can't afford it. So the plan that has been -- that I put forward and that what we're seeing in Congress would cover -- the estimates are -- at least 97 percent to 98 percent of Americans. There might still be people left out there who, even though there's an individual mandate, even though they are required to purchase health insurance, might still not get it or, despite a lot of subsidies, are still in such dire straits that it's still hard for them to afford it and we may end up giving them some sort of hardship exemption." He actually said Americans yet 'his' plan covers illegal aliens as well. His 47 million number that he quotes also include illegal aliens who, as we know, do not pay taxes. Does he not understand how Medicaid already works for those who are in 'dire straits'?
Even after people have read the bill and directly asked Obama about the provision regarding everyone going onto the public healthcare option he still maintained this lie: “If you have health insurance, the reform we're proposing will provide you with more security and more stability. It will keep government out of health care decisions, giving you the option to keep your insurance if you're happy with it.” Who is he kidding? He obviously has not read the bill that the loons in Congress have come up with. Unfortunately there are a lot of Americans who are completely clueless and just believe everything that comes out of his mouth.
Obama also made the following statement: “It will limit the amount your insurance company can force you to pay for your medical costs out of your own pocket. And it will cover preventive care like checkups and mammograms that save lives and money.” Basically what he is saying is that it is going to cost employers a fortune to provide health insurance which will in turn cause them to drop it as it will be cheaper to pay the fines that will be imposed than cover employees. Again Obama shows his lack of knowledge about the health insurance industry and business.
This is the biggest joke of his press conference regarding healthcare: “I've also pledged that health insurance reform will not add to our deficit over the next decade, and I mean it. In the past eight years, we saw the enactment of two tax cuts -- primarily for the wealthiest Americans -- and a Medicare prescription program, none of which were paid for. That's partly why I inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit. That will not happen with health insurance reform. It will be paid for.” He is absolutely out of his mind. He obviously does not read the reports that the Congressional Budget Office produces. He continues to blame Bush for an inherited deficit yet Obama is creating the biggest deficit this country has ever seen within 6 months thanks to his insane spending sprees.
The most outrageous and outright stupid comment of the night came at the very end. Obama was asked by a reporter what his thoughts were on the case in Cambridge where Obama’s black Harvard buddy Skip Gates was arrested for disorderly conduct outside of his home by a white police officer. You can read more about the story here and the police report here. The point isn’t the details (which absolutely do not point to racial profiling). The point is that Obama admitted he didn’t know the details but made the following comment: “the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home”.
Interesting how Obama chose this as his last question of the night. He purposely chose this question because he knew that this would be the buzz all over the news today as opposed to his lack of understanding of the healthcare bill. His answers regarding healthcare questions were actually confusing and did not create a clear picture of the bill that he is trying to shove down our throats. He ‘stupidly’ made comments about the Gates case on purpose. He ‘stupidly’ made comments about healthcare because he simply has no idea what he is talking about.

Ex. page 167 -- if you don't "sign up" for HC, you are taxed at 2.5%.
Page 50, Sec. 162 Non-residents and all illegals will receive HC but are exempt from tax or payment for benefit
Also, If you need a hip or knee replacement, gov't decides for you -- you and your Doc do not.
Senior citizens will not be allowed surgeries, replacements, treatments that they want or need without gov't ok -- and as Obama stated, "maybe they should just take a pain pill."

Funny how I have gone through my entire life being called , Cracker, Peckerwood, whitey, Honkey, Casper, and every disrespectful name there is by black people. As for who caused the housing bubble, I would like to know what the democrats did, specifically, to make them the cause of the housing bubble. As far as I know, housing bubbles are caused by speculative fever, low interest rates, and of course a large number of buyers. Supply and demand, as demand increases, prices go up. Once prices go up to an unsustainable level, the housing market crashes.
Bushes push for everyone in the US to own a home came at a high cost. It drove people who could NOT afford a house to go and seek mortgages that they could not pay. Once this situation had matured, and enough people defaulted on their loans. This housing bubble, shall we say... popped.

The point I'm trying to make, is that it shouldn't matter whether police arrested a black or a white person, but it does, and all that shows is that we are far, far from being a nation without prejudice and moral fallacies. When we can have a presidential race with a black candidate and a white candidate and not have the media bring up the issue of skin color is when I'll be convinced that we are truly the nation that we are meant to be.
So if you believe that those of us who refuse to bring race into our discussion because we are somehow afraid of touching a taboo, or that we are scared of the judgment of our peers, then you could not be more wrong. As for the article being about race... I would have to disagree. Having read and reread it, the article is primarily the author's opinion on the incompetency of the Obama administration regarding health care, with a point made at the end about a tactic used to divert media attention. Race was definitely not the primary issue at hand.
Also, I agree that there are plenty of democrats to blame for the mess we're in, and I'm not going to simply say the Republicans are responsible for everything and the world would be such a better place if only my views were realized. History has taught us that this simply does not work.
As for Yellow Streak's comment, the whole idea of race, affirmative action, and the media's fascination with things in politics that do not matter at all, just shows that we as a culture have failed. WHO CARES if Sanford married for political reasons instead of love, the idea that people vote for candidates not on their ability to govern and make decisions, but based on their family standing, religious views, skin color, and other things that simply have no bearing on the decisions they'll make. I watched Fox News read Gov. Sanford's PRIVATE LOVE LETTERS to his Argentinian mistress, on the air in front of millions of people like they were sixth graders who found a love note from one kid to another.

I completely agree that Bush is not the only cause of the problems we are facing. It is not fair to say that a democratic president would of done better, or worse. The point of the matter is that as the former leader of this nation, he must take (at least partial) responsibility for the mess we are in right now. If you honestly believe Bush and the republican party had nothing at all to do with the housing bubble, and the recession we are in right now, then I would have to call you ignorant. The point I was trying to make in response to Kimberly's comment was that you can't just point a finger and blame all of our problems on the opposition. You should thank God every day for the existence of the opposing party, for without both sides, we would be a nation similar to Nazi Germany, Cuba, or The People's Rebublic Of China. We need each other to keep us in check.
