There has been a quiet, though determined effort over the last few decades to change the way we describe the unsavory. Most of this insidious campaign has been directed by the left and the left-leaning media. By changing the language we use, many of us have changed the way we perceive certain behaviors and conditions.
We used to refer to someone who chooses not to work and places alcohol, drugs, and lethargy above contributing to their community as a “bum” or “derelict.” Now this same wretch is known as a “homeless person.”
Of course, not all homeless people are bums, but the left has forced the chronically lazy upon the ranks of the unfortunate.
For many years, we called drug addicts “junkies.” However, these burdens on society are now referred to as being “chemically dependent.” Never mind that these are the people responsible for keeping drug dealers in business and therefore, bringing violence to our neighborhoods.
The left also wants us to fail in making the connection between American drug users and the drug cartels which have destroyed Mexico, and now operate in at least 231 U.S. cities.
Those on the left know that it would be impossible to seek acceptance for drug abusers, by displaying the facts and the harm they bring to their communities. So they sell them as being “dependent” and tell us that they are suffering from a "disease."
Think about it…When was the last time you heard the term “crack-head?”
According to the left-wing press, ruthless terrorists in Iraq are not terrorists but “insurgents.” These savages who saw-off he heads of Westerners for television cameras, have even been compared to the soldiers of the American Revolutionary War. Michael Moore once dubbed them “Iraqi minutemen.”
Welfare recipients and parolees are now referred to by their case-workers and parole officers as “clients.” Webster's defines a client as: “a customer.” I thought customers had to purchase something...not take something.
All of these politically correct terms have been created in order to illicit sympathy for leftist causes. These names have been inserted into the American lexicon with the greatest of ease. Most Americans now actually feel a degree of shame if they dare refer to the rude lay-about who accosts them for a few dollars, as a “bum.”
As I said, the leftist intelligentsia could not have pulled off this caper without a powerful ally--the American news-media.
How often do you now hear the term “terrorist” versus “insurgent,“ or “extremist?”
The liberal media, along with the federal government has all but dropped the “T” word, in favor of a label which evokes the image of a freedom-fighter. While these monsters are killing our troops and innocent Americans, it is obvious whom our own press favors in this conflict.
We are also supposed to ignore the fact that these terrorists are committing their vile acts in the name of Islam.
Our current Secretary of Homeland Security refers to terrorism as “man-made disasters.”
Then we come to what is perhaps, the most egregious term created by the left…”Undocumented immigrant.”
Calling anyone who enters this country illegally, an immigrant, is akin to calling a burglar, a guest in your home.
We are not supposed to refer to these people by the term that actually defines them…Illegal aliens or simply invaders!
Referring to illegal aliens as “immigrants” is not only dishonest, it is incredibly insulting to the millions of folks who have come to this country legally, as well as to their contributions.
If we are to ever wrest this nation away from the left and right this sinking ship...We must take back the freedom of the spoken word. We must drop the highly-spun language of the left. Their politically correct terms only serve to excuse deviant and even evil behavior. It helps no one. Calling abortion "a woman's right to choose"--does not make that baby any less dead!
The left has in fact changed the names, while the conditions have only worsened.

Actually, most "undocumented immigrants" do have documents. It's just that the documents they have are either stolen or fake. If I held a gun in my hand that I had stolen, would I be considered unarmed? No, of course not.
Immigrants are foreigners who legally immigrate to the United States. By immigrating here legally, these foreigners would have documents issued to them by the United States government. So there is no such thing as an "undocumented immigrant".
Whoever controls the language, controls the society. This political axiom is and has been well-known to all tyrannts, including those who would control us, like, Nancy, Americans who go to protest at their own TOwn Halls are NAZIS", Pelosi. There's a good example of a leftist operative speaking that special talk that only they can speak so well.
To make my point about whoever controls the language controls the society, crystal clear, ask yourself this question. Would an English speaking politician in a French Canadian province be taken as seriously as one that speaks French?
Next week the Looney Lefties will be bussing in 100,000 illegal aliens to the Potomac Fever Swamp to demand amnesty. You think a search of their personal effects might just turn up a few phony/fraudulent driver's licenses, credit cards, and dozens of other ID documents? Every bus load of 'em ought to be pulled over and searched. ICE already has the statutory authority to question ANYONE riding on a public conveyance within 75 miles of the border or coast. Last time I checked, the District of Columbia met that condition.
The anti-American left uses the term "undocumented immigrant" because they want to make them "documented immigrants", even though it will be very expensive to Americans and legal immigrants.
Amnesty is also racist, since it will benefit 30 Latin Americans for every single Asian, African, or European who benefits.
Obviously the left is comfortable supporting this extreme 30 to 1 bias in favor of one race since it will greatly help to weaken our national unity.

Come on Dave, you just ruined an otherwise decent article with that remark posted above. I'm no leftist and no fan of Michael Moore - but the fact remains and cannot be denied that Bush and Cheney and their mostly Jewish neo-con, Israel-First crowd of co-conspirators deliberately and with malice aforethought lied the USA into going to war with Iraq. Hence, we have no business being there - and the Iraqis are doing exactly what we would do, if we were trying to remove an occupying force from our nation. And that, Dave - is the CONSERVATIVE assessment of these war criminals who you try to defend.
