Early in 2008, realizing that he needed the support of conservatives to have a chance at winning the general election, John McCain stopped talking about his failed Amnesty bill and toned-down his pro-illegal alien rhetoric.
However, actions speak louder than words and based on McCain´s past actions, a leading Latino newspaper which supports a completely open border between the U.S. and Mexico endorsed McCain.
Shortly before Super Tuesday 2008, the nation´s largest Latino newspaper known as La Opinion gave a glowing endorsement to McCain for the then-undecided GOP nomination.
What follows is that endorsement taken directly from La Opinion´s website:
"Republican candidates with the most extreme views were the first to leave the race for the presidency. This is the good news.
The strategy of Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo to make scapegoats of the undocumented utterly failed, Nor did it help former Senator Fred Thompson, who used a heavy hand on immigration to show his conservatism. The politics of prejudice gave them no advantage.
This left former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Governor Mitt Romney and Senator John McCain. All were moderate on immigration, but McCain was the only one to maintain his position. Giuliani floundered, and then gave his support to McCain.
Only hardliner Romney now remains. He has changed several of his previous positions, including on immigration to win the conservative vote. His talk about deporting millions is appalling. To think about doing so is ridiculous; to propose it is inhumane.
For his part, McCain was the lone voice of difference on this issue. His firm stand describing the complexities of the immigration question didn´t stop him from gaining the lead. While he has said that as President he would not propose his reform package, he has not gone to the absurd extremes of the others.
The evolution of the immigration issue during the course of the campaign is a good sign from Republican voters. It is our hope that this trend continues through the general election and into the future. May the silent majority trounce the vocal minority.
Senator John McCain has an independent character free from ideological constraints, which will improve the divisive national political climate. Over the course of his career he has demonstrated a deep understanding of the immigration issue and a desire to provide comprehensive immigration reform. We are not in agreement with many of his positions, such as on Iraq, but his inclusive spirit and his pragmatism make him the best candidate among his Republican rivals."
Of course, attempting to con conservatives into believing that he was now one of us, McCain kept quiet about this most-telling endorsement. La Opinion takes a very radical stance on illegal immigration into the United States, and actually advocates for the re-conquest of the U.S. by Mexican nationals
For months, the McCain campaign gave long lists of endorsements from politicians to various newspapers and had a section on his official website entitled "Veterans for McCain." However, I could never find one press release from his campaign nor is there any mention on his website announcing the endorsement from La Opinion.
Make no mistake, if John McCain had been elected President, every illegal alien currently inside this country as of January 20, 2009, would stay here, and the border would remain open. It is no secret that the Democratic Party has no more respect for U.S. sovereignty than does the Republican Party. In short, we were doomed either way.
Facing a re-election battle in 2010, for the time being, McCain will continue to pretend that he is a tough conservative. However, McCain cannot hide from his own record on illegal immigration.

Our Congress is full of traitorous politicians who care more about what's best for Mexicans than about what's best for Americans.

McCain fooled the People AND Congress on one VERY important issue--his ineligibility for POTUS. He was born in a Colon, Panama hospital, NOT the U.S. base hospital. Some may say "That's a technicality", but you can't say The Constitution or the requirements for a Presidential candidate are "technicalities"--they are the law. The two areas in Panama that were NOT under U.S. jurisdiction were Colon and Panama City. So, John McCain was born a dual citizen and dual citizens cannot be President.
While Clark Hamblin lost his case in Fed. District Court in August on "standing", he was "spot on" in detailing why McCain isn't and wasn't eligible to be President.

what is inhumane is the fact that Americans all over the country are losing the quality of their lives because of the mass immigration that is taking place. Mexico is where mexicans belong. Why get soft on an issue that could conclude with the complete ruination of our country? We have no other choice than to remove them by attrition or strong arm deportation. Are you falling for their tear jerking excuses? Living in Mexico is NOT fatal. Deport them all.
I understand that the ACLU (anybody BUT American Civil Liberties Uniuon)now declares that deaths in the deseret are all the fault of the US. Isn't living in fantasy land wonderful?
John, "americans wouldn't be lettuce for fifty dollars and hour," McCain, is a something else. But you know what amazes me a thousand times more? Those utterly stupid Republicans who can't see McCains for what he is and stupidly keep voting this worthless RINO back into office--to abuse Republican voters more. Now that is an prime example of STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.
I meant to say in my last post, "pick" lettuce for fifty dollars an hour. A claim McCain made to American union workers.
