Gerald Warner
Pantywaist - noun - sissy; effeminate, or weak male.
Gerald Warner, a columnist with the UK Telegraph made news across the pond here in the states last week with his column, "Barack Obama: President Pantywaist restores the satellite states to their former owner" referring to the president's decision to scrap the missile defense shield system which was slated to have been built in Poland and the Czech Republic.
The reason for Obama's decision to scrap the project? Iran's long range missile program has not progressed as rapidly as previously estimated, according to the Wall Street Journal on September 17. But surprisingly on September 18, the United Nations releases a report that says Iran has the expertise to build a a nuclear bomb.
Why was it scrapped again? Who knows. Hopefully President Obama knows something the rest of us do not.
Warner's column begins with the following:
Barack Obama’s chances of re-election in three and a half years’ time may be evaporating at unprecedented speed, but his presidential ambitions could still be realised in another direction. He would be a shoo-in to win the next Russian presidential election, so high is his popularity now running in the land of the bear and the knout. Obama has done more to restore Russia’s hegemonial potential in Eastern and Central Europe than even Vladimir Putin.
His latest achievement has been to restore the former satellite states to dependency on Moscow, by wimping out of the missile defence shield plan. This follows on his surrender last July when he voluntarily sacrificed around a third of America’s nuclear capability for no perceptible benefit beyond a grim smile from Putin. If there is one thing that fans the fires of aggression it is appeasement.

So much for restoring our image in Europe.

Are you just catching on to the "Pantywaist" epithet in the Telegram? That's amusing, Gerald Warner has been calling Obama President Pantywaist for quite some time now. I read the UK papers and others but by far, the best column appeared in Pravda Online and compared Obama's policies to the worst ones of the old Soviet Union. If Obama thinks the "word" is on his side, he'd better take another long hard look because he is losing heads of state and will soon not have a sympathetic one to his name......except of course for the Marxists from Central, South America and Cuba.
Don't think that this insane, Nazi columnist in any way reflects Europe's opinion of the US. The man is a nut and hardly anyone reads him let alone takes him seriously.
