Glenn Bekc Poster
Contrary to allegations made on this site by certain writers, it should be pointed out that simply using raised fists that resemble Soviet-era styling does not make a person a communist or a socialist. Unfortunately, sometimes blatant lies used to emphasize a far left agenda do not work….especially when I have an Examiner.com account and 5 minutes of my life to waste.
The picture to the right is a poster for Glenn Beck’s Project 9-12 taxpayer march on Washington D.C. In an article posted previously today, it accused Glenn Beck of being a “secret communist, leading the most gullible and ignorant Americans in a movement meant to destroy this great country,” due to the use of red fists on the poster. The red fists, as pointed out by the L.A. Times, have been used in “communist, socialist and other left-wing designs.” Connecting the logical dots, the article concludes that “Beck's superiors in this dark communist-socialist plot are clearly hoping to divide and conquer, using Beck's following as a secret army to foment political unrest and civil war.”
With that in mind, I thought I might put to rest any fears of an upcoming communist revolt led by Glenn Beck.
Interestingly, what was left out of the communist accusation article was any substantial information on Glenn Beck, the planned march on the Capitol, or the meaning behind the poster.
Project 9-12, as Mr. Beck calls it, stands for both the date of the march on D.C. and Beck’s policy emphasis of 9 principles and 12 values. Here are the nine principles he is promoting:
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
Upon reviewing these nine principles, especially the ones in bold, it becomes clear that Beck is promoting the exact opposite of a communist agenda. In fact, he is on the opposite side of the political spectrum, and is emphasizing a conservative ideology.
Thus, as much as some of us would like to skew the facts and leave out any substantial information, all while making outlandish claims, it appears that tiny red fists are not an indicator of a secret communist agenda. I guess we can all sleep a little better tonight….

If he is suggesting that a 'raised fist' means one is a communist or socialist then I suppose we are to believe only black people play basketball, gays always act feminine and Telly-Tubbies are satanic.
Or that Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the 1968 Olympics who raised their fists for human rights and protesting injustice were actually commie pinko's who were mounting a Trotsky revolution in front of thousands.

Free speech is a good thing.
But along with free speech goes the responsibility of credibility and fairness that reflects not only on the writers of this site, but the site itself.

In response to you Wendy, this wasn't a pro-Glenn Beck article. I never said I support him, or offered an opinion on him one way or the other. If you want to dislike Beck or his beliefs, there are a hundred real reasons to do so. I just have an issue with blatant lies in an attempt to discredit a person and persuade people of your own political agenda.
A good and fair response to Wendy, Brandon. These memers need to find something more productive to do (my response to Wendy is that she is a douche).
Thank you for writing this counter piece to the ridiculous hack writer Christopher Knight (the LA Times makes great toilet paper). Hopefully it will help the open the eyes to at least a few of the libtards that choose not to worship and serve this administration.
Did you guys miss the segment Beck did where he talked about all the "communist/facist" art in Rockefeller center? I'm pretty sure the other article was referring to this rant. It makes Beck look a bit clueless to use communist art himself as a logo after just ranting about it.

I'm pretty sure that article was just playing with the irony. Glenn Beck pointed out all this "commie art" in Rockefeller Plaza, then uses this logo with socialist/communist influences. I don't think they were actually accuse him of being a communist....it was satire, poorly worded, and not in the right place, but still.
Avoid the first person, it makes you appear like an amateur. Try an outline and rough draft next time. And keep working on that GED.
Also, you should have linked to the original story.
Finally, be careful of throwing stones, your house is glass, and quite fragile.

I am glad that you cleared this up. I was afraid that Glenn Beck WAS a communist. Your clear concise arguments are infallible and will combat ANY attempts to smear comrade Beck. He is NOT a communist, and he DID NOT rape and kill a young girl in 1999!
Glenn Beck is an American disgrace. He is trying to incite some insane person among his viewers to assasinate the American President in the name of Love of Country.
