Catherine Bragg from California nails Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey with questions and facts about interstate competition. Claiming that there are 1,300 insurance companies in the United States and she only has access to six of them - we need competition? Allow citizens to cross state lines for insurance and see how costs come down due to increased competition.
In another "we are the only solution" example of government hypocricy, where the free market functions well, but the government creates a problem, by limiting interstate innsurance commerce and then steps in to resolve the problem of lack of competition - a central goverment's answer to a central government created problem..
It is also worth noting that when the bill which would have allowed for interstate purchasing of insurance came to the floor, a Senator from the great state of Illinois, named Barack Obama voted against allowing people to cross state lines to buy health care insurance.
Where are the Republicans, Why have we not heard this from them?.
This woman is just an ordinary business perrson concerned about her future and her country's future. Proving once again that town hall protesters are not Republican or Democrat, but American's concerned with the direction of our country.
I just have one question, when will we see the Sarah Palin/Catherine Bragg ticket, 2012?
