Lets look at the big picture for a minute.
It does not take a genius to make the connection between gun laws and the
high rate of crime in New Orleans and Louisiana's lowest ranking gun control
laws in the nation.Basically New Orleans is the easiest place in the nation to get
a gun, with some of the highest rates of violent crime in the nation,
conspiracy theories abound, many black leaders in New Orleans feel that since
the problem is mostly in the black community that whites turn a blind eye to the gun
control laws ,I looke into it and found some interesting information.
New Orleans Underground Gun Trade
The problem with Louisiana's gun control laws start with the gun dealers and the gun shows.
Dennis Hennigan Brady Center Vice President states in his article that in defense over 80% of gun owners support extending Brady Act background checks to private sales at gun shows. Even most self-identified members of the National Rifle Association support handgun registration and mandatory safety training before purchasing a firearm.
Pretty much anybody can get a gun at a gun show because it is mostly private citizens selling there own guns.No fingerprints,
trace samples,no background check, scary thought but its true.
Elliot's Gun Shop use to be at 3008 Jefferson Highway was one of the largest gun
dealers in the nation back in 2007,white owned .They sold on average 20 guns a day between 2005
and 2007,a total of 13,200 weapons flooded the streets.Enough weapons to supply a small army of soldiers .
James Letten-U.S. Attorney ,with help from Anthony Cannatella ended up shutting them down, after crime started to reach
white communities but the damage was already done. Many of the "black market" deals were straw sales, using fake
signatures. All of this happened right under the noise of the all knowing Harry Lee ,whose daughter Cynthia Lee,recently won election
based on his great crime fighting record, give me a break, former top cop in Jefferson Parish.
When Timothy Harris, yes Timothy is the white owner of Elliot's Gun Shop was
interviewed back in 1997 here is what he said.
Timothy Harris opened the shop in 1990, and it wasn't long before police like Anthony Cannatella started tracing illegal sales back to his store. Harris didn't seem too concerned. "Business has increased steadily," he told a reporter in 1997. "The more crime there is in New Orleans, the more guns we sell."
So part of the lesson we must learn is that lets know all the facts before we place blame on one another. If New Orleans and the state wants to dig its way out of the many problems we face we have to look at allot of the problems at their root.Did Superintendent Riley put these illegal guns on the street,no,is he taking the blame for the high rate of crime, yes. If New Orleans
wants to grow the economy and become economically viable we have to look at these issues objectively,it will be too late
when the crime starts making its way to the white community. The black community is hurting right now and if the the white
community does not lend a helping hand soon then everybody will feel their pain.
There are probably a thousand more Timothy Harris's out there in surrounding parishes looking to make a fast buck
13,200 guns-average of 20 a day, until it hits home you probably will not care.

Lets make this perfectly clear, The number of "guns on the street" has no direct impact on crime in general or on criminal misuse of firearms in particular. In a law abiding neighborhood you could literaly leave "guns on the street" or sidewalk and see no increase in crime. Probably not a good thing to do around children but that's a separate issue. Guns do not cause crime, period. As the saying goes, "guns cause crime the same way flies cause garbage".
Crime is caused by (surprise!) criminals. Studies suggest that when you count all of America's felons, the overwhelming majority of them are "on the street" due to a completed sentence, bail, pretrial release or simply between convictions. As a society we do an abysmal job of controlling our career criminal class. The gun controllers are in denial of the fact that there are no dangerous weapons, but there are dangerous people. Some of them are extremely dangerous, armed or not. We need to get serious about controlling them.
So you think its o.k. for a criminal to go to gun show and buy a gun. No back ground check
Gun dealer quote
"The more crime there is in New Orleans, the more guns we sell."
"Pretty much anybody can get a gun at a gun show because it is mostly private citizens selling there own guns."
I believe that you have neglected to substantiate this claim with any actual evidence in support of its factual validity.
Let me rewrite your first Para.
It does not take a genius to make the connection between the high rate of crime in DC and DC's HIGHEST RANKING ranking gun control laws in the nation. Basically DC is the TOUGHEST place in the nation to get a gun, with some of the highest rates of violent crime in the nation,
You might also want to educate yourself on the racist history of gun control in america.
@Dimensio Yes you can buy at gun show very easily
1. The private party transfer must takes place in Louisiana between two Louisiana residents.
2. If are selling to someone else you must not be aware of anything that will prevent the other party from possessing the weapon (felonies, restraining orders, etc)
3. If you are buying from someone else you must be eligible to possess the weapon under Federal Law as if you were buying from a store.
4. The buyer must be 18+. That's right, 18+. The age is 21 if buying from a dealer but only 18 if buying from a private party. Go figure.
@Dimensio Its called the gun show loophole
@DCGuy I do not have figures on D.C. not a state
and for the record I am against criminals obtaining guns
@Thirdpower what are a skin head. Are you so far to the right that you would not want to enact a law to prevent the easy buying of guns at a gun show.
"@Dimensio Its called the gun show loophole"
I am familiar with the intellectually dishonest phrase "gun show loophole". The existence of that phrase does not constitute substantiation of your claim that firearms convention feature "mostly private citizens" selling firearms rather than federally licensed firearms sellers. You have provided no actual demonstration that the majority of firearms sellers at firearms conventions are private individuals rather than federally licensed sellers.
"@Thirdpower what are a skin head. Are you so far to the right that you would not want to enact a law to prevent the easy buying of guns at a gun show."
So because I oppose the banning of private transactions I'm a 'right wing skin head'?
Perhaps if you didn't plagiarize you might learn something new. Since that seems to be your SOP, you are unable to respond to any of the facts that I've presented or questions I've asked and once again need to resort to playing the race card.
BTW. Using spell-check does not mean you're using the correct words.
What a load of crap.
Hey, Cliff, the FBI asked criminals where they got their guns. Why don't you look up what they said?
Google is a wonderful thing for this sort of research. Let us all know what you find out. Try to stick to facts rather than unsubstantiated opinions.
Please, please, go to the JPFO web site at JPFO dot Org and watch "No Guns for Negroes."
You are falling for the propaganda and participating in the conspiracy. The conspiracy to keep blacks as victims. Wake up! You are the conspiracy.
@Thirdpower First of all crimes with guns have gone down in Chicago. It is much safer then the Al Capone days.Know your history.Second of all
the guns in Chicago used for criminal activity are not being brought in Chicago, duh. The criminals are getting them from neighboring states or counties using straw techniques.Which is why there needs to be a National standard.
@Aaron Zelman or Jeff Knox-I think your on drugs,no maybe not,I will entertain you in a game of mental chess. Why would the ruling class want to get rid of their main source of labor. The Egyptians did not want to let the Jews go free.I think you have me mixed up with some other "NEGRO"
Um, straw purchases are already illegal by Federal Law. Transfer of firearms over state lines by a non-FFL is already illegal by Federal Law. The 'gun show loophole' HAS been closed in Illinois and all legal firearm owners require a state license. Chicago crime has 'gone down' yet is still 5x the rate of the rest of the state where firearms are common and has no correlation to the various gun bans and 'controls' passed.
90% of the murderers in Chicago have a criminal past. 80% of the victims do. Over 60% are directly gang related while the city has a 50% High School drop out rate.
"The criminals are getting them from neighboring states or counties using straw techniques."
So who are the people bringing them in? The friends and families of the criminals? FFL dealers? Who? Where does the accountability lie?
@Jim In Houston Yes asking the criminal were you got your gone ,that works, how about trace samples of gun barrels and bullets sent to FBI.Like you guys in NRA say ,guns do not kill people. So lets get as much information as we can so we can find out who is killing.Im talking about the awful crime in the black community.Im tired of young black men killing each other.I do not think anythings wrong with that.Obama can not say it but I can.
@Thidpower The accountability should crime occur should lie partially with the gun buyer if gun is stolen report it immediately if they do not investigate with ,trace samples, fingerprints,ENGLAND policeDO NOT CARRY GUNS.We Have to slow down the GUN TRADE ,black people are dieing.
Yes, black people are dying. Who is doing the killing? If the friends and family of these murderers follow all the laws to buy a gun for them and then proclaim on the news how that murderer w/ a long criminal record was a 'good boy' and blame the police, who is at fault? The 'gun culture' that promotes hunting and education or the 'gun culture' that promotes 'stop snitchin'', denigration of women, criminal activity, and violence?
Why aren't you responding to my actual statements?
So everybody should suffer because a certain group of people can't help but kill themselves? The vast majority of gun-owners everywhere are responsible and safe.
@skippydog If you think this suffering then you have not read anyhing I have wrote. Why do white guys have such a GUN fetish
"@Thirdpower So you want to keep black people in mental slavery."
That's right. I think that a 50% HS rate is a problem that leads towards crime so I want to keep blacks in 'mental slavery'.
You have to be a parody since you can't honestly be this ignorant.

FTA: "Pretty much anybody can get a gun at a gun show because it is mostly private citizens selling there own guns.No fingerprints..."
Guns are private property. We'll do as we please with them. It's no ones business, especially the government's.
It's none of the government's business who has the guns.
White guys, gun fetish?
Watch a few hours of BET for silly levels of gun fetishism. I especially like the sideways "gangsta grip" and morons with locked and loaded guns stuffed in their pants. I have yet to see such idiocy outside of black criminal culture.
A desire for ownership of the means of self defense is hardly a fetish. Watching bikini chicks with full auto weapons on youtube is a fetish.
Clifford Bryan says:
"@Jim In Houston Yes asking the criminal were you got your gone ,that works, how about trace samples of gun barrels and bullets sent to FBI.Like you guys in NRA say ,guns do not kill people. So lets get as much information as we can so we can find out who is killing.Im talking about the awful crime in the black community.Im tired of young black men killing each other.I do not think anythings wrong with that.Obama can not say it but I can."
Clifford, you've shut down that brain again. Find out where criminals REALLY get their guns before you point fingers at folks like me. This is PUBLISHED information and it behooves you to find it.
As for trace information, contrary to TEEVEE, ballistic traces almost never solve crimes. As for tracing of serial numbers, that will lead you to the first purchaser only, who may have had his gun lost or stolen...this is almost never the criminal.
@Wodheida sounds like your a revolutionary
@veroferitas Im not going to waste high speech on you
@veroferitas Well Bernie Medhoff even the score with his white collar crime now didn't he
@veroferitas:Get a copy of this I do not have time to explain the fetish theory
The Isis Papers: The Keys to the Colors (Paperback)
by Dr. Frances Cress Welsing
@Jim in Houston
When the ATF gets out of bed with the NRA we will get to the bottom of this
Yeah Jim I bet you have a couple Saturday night specials you keep around
Crime gun trace data has provided powerful evidence of the gun industrys
complicity in fueling the illegal market, showing that thousands of guns move quickly
from a relatively small number of licensed gun dealers into the illegal market. Indeed,
almost 60% of the crime guns traced in a given year were sold by only 1% of the
licensed firearms dealers, while about 85% of gun dealers had no traces at all. The
gun industry knows who the high-trace dealers are, but has refused to stop selling
them guns or force them to reform. As a result, felons and other prohibited
purchasers have been supplied the tools of violence aided and abetted by careless or
corrupt dealers. Our nation suffers from the violent gun crime that ensues
@lavieaux No sorry its not a joke ,I bet you wish it was, facts, all facts
First, crime gun trace data directly
challenges the gun lobbys claim that gun laws can
have no effect on criminal access to guns because
criminals either steal guns from legal owners or
obtain them on the black market. Trace data
shows that the black market itself is largely the
product of the continuous and massive diversion
of guns from licensed dealers. Crime gun trace
data answers the question the gun lobby does
not want to be asked: Where do illegal guns
come from?
Actually trace data shows no such things. Perhaps that little disclaimer on the front page of each and every one along w/ the report by the CRS escaped you. It most likely would since you couldn't plagiarize it from the Brady Campaign.

This happened 10 minutes ago at a bar in New Orleans, more proof of the gun problem making its way to the white community
Not much need to read such a book. I'll skip to the end. Whitey done did it, din't he?
As for your link to the robbery story, as usual the suspect was a white, suburban gun owner wasn't he?
"@veroferitas Well Bernie Medhoff even the score with his white collar crime now didn't he"
So blacks murder at 6 times their demographic representation and you blather about some doofus ponzie scheme? So dead is somehow better off than suckered out of your money?
A spirited discussion with an intelligent opponent is like a chess match. With you it is more like hungry hungry hippos. Or maybe Uno.
"ENGLAND policeDO NOT CARRY GUNS."
That used to be the case. It isn't anymore.
Even though the British subjects are all but completely disarmed, the British police have been steadily arming themselves to do battle with the growing criminal element that has taken root in their society.
@gerald Ill take your word for it
@DSM 25 years I've seen alot of figure head token mayors.Ill show you how to run something
Racism thrives in the white gun nut community. These guys all use the 'n' word with one another, off-line, like normal people use the word "and." It's ingrained in their DNA. Only way to stop them is by jailing them all, as quickly as possible. Either that, or let them all join the military, as so many of them seem keen to do (they aren't good at interacting with others in a non-violent way and feel at home surrounded by others who love violence and death), and then declare crazy wars like most of the ones we've been in for the past 60 years so you can send them out to be killed by others.
What's the matter Cliffy? Don't like having the fact that your supporters are racist pointed out to you?
Look for Thirdpower at facebook: www(dot)facebook(dot)com/Thirdpower
Nice pic, Roy. Still can't grow a real beard, huh? Find any work yet? Or you planning on supporting your family by selling those "I'm a terrorist" patches on your blog nobody reads? The laughing stock of the domestic terrorist community.
@thirdpower I think JadeGold has you figured out pretty good.No problem here,as long as you stay on topic.
Oh look. Guy Cabot has decided to come out from under his bridge.
Such high quality supporters you generate Cliffy.
So Cliff, is that the game you're going to play? Anyone who even remotely supports your position can post anything derogatory or racist they feel like but 'reasoned discourse' rears its head with the people who oppose you?
@Third You and your fellow NRA supporters ganged up on me for no good reason, literally took over this page the other day Im just balancing things out a little bit.
So you posted links to this article all over the web because you DIDN'T want attention?
You called me a skin head because I don't recognize the myth of the 'gun show loophole' and called you on plagiarizing from other blogs.
Now you're encouraging even more racist comments and trolling w/ no relevance to the topic to 'balance things out'?
No wonder you're ineffectual in getting anything done.
No
@Third I wanted an intelligent discussion about the facts I laid out in the article not a FREE FOR ALL which you started. The only site you gave to substantiate your statements was your own blog.
You wanted an 'intelligent discussion'? Which explains why you delete on topic comments calling you on your plagiarized 'facts' then ignore every other fact that I've presented such as Chicago crime figures, ATF reports, etc.
You retort w/ 'skin head' and talking about Chicago from 80 years ago BEFORE any of the current gun bans were enacted, and talking about 'conspiracies' against blacks.
Are you denying you directly cutnpasted elements of your post from the Brady Campaign blog?
