Four African American jurors chosen for Congressman William

                                                                                                 The jury has been selected in the former Congressman's trial.The defense managed to to have four African Americans placed on the jury which has to bode well for Jefferson given the historically sympathetic nature of African American jurors when chosen for high profile cases with black defendants.The O.J. simpson case for example.Former U.S. Representative William Jefferson helped his defense team select jury members and has been accompanied to trial by his Harvard educated daughters.The jury will be made up of eight women and for men.Interesting side note is the fact that the prosecutions star witness Lori Mody ,a Virginia business women,will not take the stand in the case which is an unusual move since she is the person who wore the wire that taped many of the discussions she had with William Jefferson.It looks very bad for the prosecution not to have Mody take the stand.This defense has one this round,here you have a case which alleges corruption and racketeering by a public official yet when the trial is set to start you can not call your star witness to the stand to back up and give credibility to the prosecutions case.I think Lori Mody was a pawn in the governments hastily put together sting operation which seems to be falling apart at the seams.I believe she has a sordid past that the prosecution does not want revealed to the jury.I am embarassed by the governments shotty legal work.
