The real reason Obama, Dems desperately push healthcare bill

In the frenzied push to pass a massive healthcare bill that will change the U.S. healthcare system from top to bottom, Americans were told that such a plan was needed to address untold suffering on the part of the uninsured and to reign in the skyrocketing costs of medical care.

Even the Democrats and Barack Obama, however, could not manage to approve a bill in spite of the fact that they held a super-majority in both the Senate and the House, and thus, could basically do whatever they pleased.

In the meantime, after an entire year of the constant rehashing of the proposal the American people came to the conclusion that they did not want the program the Administration and Congress were pushing.

The Town Hall Meetings, the Tea Party, and a string of key losses for Democrats in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts only solidified the overwhelming consensus of the citizens that the present Administration and Congress had set the nation on the wrong course.

According to the latest Rasmussen Poll, fully 58% of likely voters oppose the healthcare proposals submitted by Obama and the Democrats in Congress.  In addition, 61% of likely voters say that Congress should start from scratch on healthcare rather than attempt to revise the current proposals.

Yet the Democrats on the Hill and Barack Obama have now announced that they intend to ram through their proposal on healthcare, even if they have to use the 'nuclear option' of 'reconciliation,' meaning they can approve an unpopular measure with only a 51-vote majority rather than the normal 60 votes.

This is an election year.  The stakes are enormous.  So, why would a President and a Congress that are already unpopular with the public undertake this extreme tactic to approve a healthcare bill that nobody wants?

The answer is clear and no one is reporting it.  The government needs the money.

By creating a massive new government bureaucracy needed to manage a government-run system, tax increases are already built into the measure to provide for the funding.  Multi-billions of dollars will pour into government coffers in order to fund this massive undertaking.  This, coupled with cutbacks in care and rationing of services, will save the government billions of dollars.

This means that Congress and the President will have yet another so-called 'social program' with multi-billions of dollars in its possession that can then be used, borrowed, or 'raided' to pay off some of the nation's mounting debt.

For example, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are regularly raided in order to fund other government initiatives or to pay off debt.  But this is no longer enough.  Another revenue-enhancing program must be created.

It's not about compassion for the poor and uninsured.  It's about control and money.  And some of the nation's creditors desperately want this program, particularly if they are near the front of the line to receive payment.

The same kind of fraud is being perpetrated with respect to the cap-and-trade initiative. It's all about the money, not the science, not the health care.

At some point, the entire financial house of cards in this country is going to come crashing down. When that happens, things are going to get very ugly, very fast.

LeChat--agreed. Very insightful. Would that 100 million Americans come to their senses and wake up to these facts.

so basically what they're doing is taking out a cash advance on the Visa to pay the Mastercard, and then go blow whatever money they may have left in a Casino, hoping they'll win back enough to pay off the Visa when next month's bill comes due.
Never occured to them to maybe just pull back all the spending like any of us would do.

I want want the health care reform. And I'm sure the many uninsured and under-insured families want it. Everyone I talk to wants it. Its a myth that "nobody" wants this. A myth perpetrated by those who haven't yet had to worry about healthcare coverage.

Lisa, you are sadly misinformed. Many who oppose this plan do not have health insurance, myself being one. I don't want government forcing me into buying something I may not want or perhaps cannot afford. With alternative proposals by conservatives, those who are uninsured can purchase more affordable plans, IF THEY WANT THEM, and get a nice tax credit for the cost of that insurance.

Lisa, I know very few, almost none that want this health care bill to pass. I am also one that has no insurance but refuse to bow to a government takeover....I guess the nationwide protests last summer are a 'myth'.

We're getting very close to the time when we may have no choice but to execute Operation Consequence.

What is wrong with the demoncraps? Why haven't they gotten the message from Mass, Va and so forth? WHY are they deadset on passing this bill that a large majority of Americans have more than adequately indicated they do not want? WHY??

Lisa, please feel free to move to Russia, China or even Canada. Sounds like with your "they owe it to me" Entitlement attitude, you'd fit in much, much better in one of those countries. This is suppose to be a FREE country. Go out and buy your own insurance and stop expecting other people to support you. We don't need your kind in America.

Spook, I think from what I am hearing that Operation Consequence is a certainty if Obama and the Democrats actually do what they are threatening.
